Maybe you should create a section for these subjects, in order to prevent topics from people who believe in that and those from people who don't to overlap.

I appreciate what gammagoblin wrote in a thread he started named "loony stuff".

A thought occured to me about the "loonie stuff"... Isn't the psychedelic experience also just a ride through insanity (consequently loonie stuff)? Not trying to degrade the psychedelic experience because I think you can learn a lot from temporal insanity. But couldn't it also be thrown on the same heap all the other "loonie stuff"? Or do you really see the experience as something serious? Because I think one can also learn from the other loonie stuff, and in the end that's the only thing that matters, not whether it has to be taken seriously.

1)Nop I don't, but perhaps you could have calmed things down a little when a topic got a little "warm". Just advise, no (verwijten)

2)&6)&7) I'm aware this has been suggested several times, but I support the idea that it might be helped by a new part on forum that would be called 'parascience' or so

3) I admit I irritated myself when Ahuaeynjxs made (to my opinion) not evidence-based claims. I felt sometimes insulted. But with a little recoil, I guess I might have provoked it sometimes.

4)I'm only recently active on the forum, but as far as I've been reading, I don't think I would have suspected GOD to be a moderator if it wasn't written under his name. I would have expected more posed/eased/calmer opinions from a moderator. The least you can say is that GOD mostly does defend his opinions. But I will express no judgement on this.

5) the fact that you've made this topic proves that you do care, doesn't it?

Just a word: I never saw any moderator act as something else than a psychonaut. There are even some users that are actually moderators but don't show it under their names/at all.

Can we please separate those two things . I am a member and write as a member . I have never had to do any moderation in the threads where i am a moderator . If i had to i would then be representing the site and i would do my best to do it fairly and neutraly in the interests of the site .

I dont feel ilke i`ve got to fullfill your thoughts about what a moderator can say or do . Just because i`m a moderator doesnt mean i cant have personal thoughts and feelings and not express them . Here we are all equal and free to be ourselves . There is no moderator heyerarchy .

Please feel free to be yourself and have fun on the forum .

Caduceus , are you asking if it was possible to edit a post without the post edited bit appearing at the bottom of the post ? If you are , yes it is possible . Every time i see i made a typographical mistake i edit it out and only rarely does that note apear .

I'm glad you noticed that as well, it's what I was attempting to get into with my long winded post yesterday.

The beauty of the cave parable is that no matter which man was freed and allowed to see the world for the first time, each man would bring back his own story and interpretation of the world that he saw. It provides the man with an epiphany that there is a larger world than what he perceived before. He does not possess the capability to fully understand it let alone describe it. The experience doesn't really bring him any closer to knowing truth. At best, it sets him on the path seeking understanding. It's a curious aspect of the human psyche, that we can so easily accept that our beliefs represent some self-evident, even divine truth (to which we are privy), avoiding having to acknowledge the role that outlook, environment, self, ego, etc play in shaping our beliefs and hence in how we interpret the world around us.
