What is enlightenment ?

yes, Life is a dream, death is who we really are = one with the cosmos = god, and I think that if you can see life as a dream, you could see enlightenment as lucid dreaming. my 2 cents

I think that some people have the wrong idea about what enlightenment is . I think its not walking around with a permanent hard on or a big smile on your face . I think its not being free from sufering because if you are a loving person other peoples suffering still hurts you , even if you know that nothing is real , that you are god and that it doesnt matter . I think its probably got a lot to do with understanding and that it changes a persons life for the better , that he stops playing so many ego games and trys to have compassion and help in his own way where he can .

As I said in a previous post that obviously was overseen, I think that the way to enlightenment is very subjective.

If I may remind you, Sidharrtha (in Hesses novel) got his Enlightenment by a river, alone (I hope that my memory doesn't cheat on me). While I'd say Jesus got his insight in a social matter. It is your decision and you shouldn't seek for black and whte.

enlightenment. i wont attempt to describe it. i dont believe the words exist.

its always temporary for most, fleeting. the trick is to remember how it felt and what thoughts went with it and act according to those memories. that gets harder the more time passes so seeking enlightenment has to be part of your life in order to stay enlightened. otherwise buddhist monks could just go home once they reach that point. it has to be renewed constantly.

mushrooms, lsd and the like can lead you to enlightenment in the same way as meditation and good life/thought practices. its just as fleeting though


i will say this about enlightenment it is rarely what people expect it to be. best to not expect anything, you will know it when it comes
