What is enlightenment ? How would you define it ? What hapens to enlighten someone ? What do they have to do ? what effects would it have on someone ? What paths are there to enlightenment ? How would we recognise an enlightened person ?

Please lets not name anyone who we think is enlightened . That would only start a round of people naming their heros and we would end up arguing who is enlightened or more enlightened ?

to me enlightenment is just living from your heart, and being with your inner child (that underbelly feeling), oh and also important not in an active state of thinking.

Path's to enlightenment :P well the path is within yourself, there might be some roadmaps but you still gotta take the steps yourself and that's the most important. Nothing can do it for you not even 1000kg of mushrooms or 10grams of lsd. Well, it might, depends on what you do with them.

when they realize that life is pretty damn sweet

the rest pretty much follows

when you realize the truth about who you really are.

Enlightenment to me is the state of being in which one has gained a neutral perspective on life. When one can look through his/her eyes and not attach to any emotions, thoughts, feelings, and other sensations, and just view them from a neutral perspective, then one is enlightened.

Paths to enlightenment to me are meditation and enthogens. A combination of both works perfect. When one is enlightened, they are at complete peace, and enlightenment is more less something for the individual, and not something for everyone else. It would be hard to recognize an enlightened person because the enlightenment is inside.

The buddhistic way reduces the input-output system thus facilitating harmony with your surroundings. The psychedelic way reduces ego size so it can fit better in its surroundings. Enlightment in my opinion is being part of a system without paradoxes. Free flow without collisions. Perfection through simplicity...

in my opinion the bigger obstacle to enlightment isn't the surroundings, it is most probably one's own mind.

however i agree that if you "reach the system without paradoxes", everything will be clear to you as it can be ?

but how you do you reach the free flow without collisions in yourself and become "part of a system without paradoxes" ???

peace. :weedman:

like me... i see no self-contradictions, because i take every self-contradiction if ind and see if it's really just a seeming self-contradiction

a paradox is actually a seeming self-contradiction that may or may not be

._.

I totally agree. There is no bigger obstacle to overcome other than ones own mind; once that has become mastered, you are enlightened. :D

Yes and no, your mind is as much an obstacle as your surroundings. It's about the relationship between the two. The surroundings can also be seen as the obstacle as they are harder to change than the mind, because they also consist of other people's minds.

"There is no bigger obstacle to overcome other than ones own mind"

= ego games / the games we play = dogma , churches , books , uniforms , special days , special numbers , tarot , astrology , priests , shaman...............???

"your mind is as much an obstacle as your surroundings"

= the answers are within us and we just need relax , close our eyes , go into ourselves , stop the internal dialog to turn the world off to get nearer to the god within ???

Yeah man, try to focus you awareness on your underbelly. That's where the magic lies.

Anyway, I went to a guy who gives ayahuasca to people in order to heal them (in the netherlands, illegaly he say's), he say's he has cured various diseases this way.
But he told us this: When you are born you are like a sun, just radiating energy in every possible direction. But when we radiate in a certain direction and we get punished for that action, for example when we were making noise as a child and we get hit in the face for that, you start to build a barricade around that part of yourself, with as a consequence that you aren't able to radiate energy in that direction. These barricades start to form entitys in your body, voices in your head telling you how you should behave. But these aren't your voices, but the voices from the people in your youth who made build that barricade. When you have build enough barricades, and you are getting older, there is another person, than that radiating ball of energy (I will call it the child from now on), the ruling ego, that grasps control in your body, and your child gets locked up in some dungeon in your belly.

When your ruling ego wants to release the child from the dungeons again, it first must fight, wait a minute fight isn't a good word, you must become friends with them in order to get permission to get passed them. And when it has permission from those barricades it can walk inside the dungeon and retreat the child. This is the process of enlightenment he say's.

so your friend could heal my insanity ??? great news :weedman:

Everything physical in the world is poor once you have been an eye-witness of the deepest fields of our minds.

A baby in it's cradle has the diamonds with him which the grown man has searched for in vain his entire life.

gammagoblin I 100% agree. A child is fresh, and true to his/her nature. What you described is what I like to call social conditioning. The social pressures that are put on a child to shape it into a 'socially acceptable individual'. It's horrible; no one is really who they should be because of all these social pressures. It is impossible to break through unless you, as a child, hike into the wilderness, and create your own culture, then you are true to yourself. The only way that I found that works to kill this culture and to return to your true nature, is to consume a high dose of mushrooms, and that will take care of your social pressures, and return you to your true self.

PEACE & LOVE

I think what you are talking about is ego death , a step on the road to enlightenment .

by social conditioning everyone is exactly the way they "should" be, however the social pressures that result from this, show that many peoples don't act the way they do, because they want to act like that but because they were taught that this way of acting is the "most convenieant for themselves and everyone else".

it's a bit about responsability and what others expect from you and what you expect from them.

or something like that.... i hope you understand :D

enlightenment is realizing there is no such thing as enlightenment.

I think a part of ego death is droping the social conditioning .
