After thinking about what Drugless said and what i said i think i should explain .

It used to be that there were two sorts of grass , one for smoking and one for making hash from . The one for smoking had very very little hash on it . The one for making hash from had loads of hash on it but the gras was realy crap to smoke . Different countrys had different types of grasses . Each one had pure strains that had been bred for hundreds of years , or much more . Each had a distinct and different stone effect .

Today most/all of the grass that is available comes from hybrid mixes of both sorts . Their hash , like bubble hash , comes from hybrids that are good for making hash and for smoking . Smoking pure bred marocan hash plants was like smoking rope . Now moroco is full of hybrids , so full that on a good day , when its warm , the winds in the right direction and the plants are flowering you can smell them in malaga........

For me its a crime . All those clean strains are gone and now all we have is grass that smells like a cheep homosexual brothel . There used to be sorts that would just make you high and not stoned . Stop you thinking and just make you aware for 4 - 5 - 6 hours after 3 small sucks . The totaly different highs are all gone and indoor grass is now a sort of homogenous valium like "high" without the clean brain high that allowed you to get on with your life and not end up lying incapacitated on the sofa coughing your guts up .

"Is it possible that this way I lose some THC that would still be in the water?"

No . Your method is good .

This one interests me. Do you just prepare a hot-chocolate (or hot milk), add some butter and hash and then drink? Would it also work with weed?

Yea but put the butter and hash/weed in, while boiling, not after

If anyone gets a good hashtrip,
I would like to read some trip-reports about it!
To less peaple here seem to have experience with a hash-trip

^I find it pretty hard to express, compared to most other psychedelics.

You may expect a HUGE body load :)

I think I've written a trip report or two in the cannabis forum somewhere if you go back over a few months and look for topics related to eating hash..

But like fork said, it is really difficult to explain the experience. All I can describe are surface psychotomimetic effects. The actual trip itself just is what it is.

Since nobody seems to have mentioned it, I thought it should not be left out:

The Strain. Cannabis has very different sorts of highs. There are many factors that can change the effects of a Mary Jane High.

The two main strains of Cannabis are Sativa and Indica.
The Sativa offers more of a mind high, open end - thus consuming more, getting higher.
Indica plants are more on the side of body-highs. These are the couch-locks.
Growers crossbreed a lot. And the main purpose is to find new and nicer highs.

So its not simply consuming MJ and go for a mental wild ride. You can choose and even mix certain highs. Just have a look at the many seed-producers, strain-databases on the internet (http://www.seedbankupdate.com/strains.html) and read the describtions of highs.
So for a mind blowing experience a sativa or mostly-sative strain will do fine. If you would like to experience a more body-mind high go for a mostly indica. A pure indica is more of a real sedative :D

The reason why the high of one plant is different to another is the mix of cannabinoids and other substances in the plant.

Here are some different examples of plants and the description of highs:
relaxing and calming
creative high and heavy body feeling
very psychedelic
clear, cerebral high
classic chill-out weed
euphoric, creative, energetic
deep, stress-free
a stratospheric cerebral high underpinned by a breathtaking body-buzz with seismic power

And this are only the plants...

And never forget the Rules of Leary:
Set, Setting & Purpose!

If you smoke some weed, that offers a creative high and you start to paint, you will see the difference, when you try the same with a heavy body buzz...

A good sativa combined with some techniques (meditation, yoga, tantra and so on), prepared correctly (as it has been suggested) in the proper setting (good friends, secure and safe place - nature is very good ground, at a good time) can kick in a way, that you WILL understand the cosmic joke of all and nothing...

Yes, Mary Jane can change your life.

But as it has been mentioned in the first reply (st.bot.32), most people just use it to blind out life. That way, you will not transcend reality, or yourself...

I've tried meditating on sativas but there's just too much going on in my head to relax. Just want to write everything down, following these trains of thought until they reach some station on mars.

True, meditation might be easier with indica/sativa strains... The rest is better with sativa :D
At least its my preferred choice.

I prefer meditating sober.

Or on acid.

I prefered smoking real/outdoor grass .

The storys of indica being more physical and sativa being more high are cliches . There used to be strains of both that that didnt aply to .Maybe its like that now since greedy / dumb bastards have tryed to boost their egos by buying sensi seeds and crossing them to produce their own hybrids . Thats why the grass has become so crapy and boring compared to what it used to be . There are next to no pure strains anymore just hybrids . Crossing plants and producing GOOD STRONG hybrids is VERY difficult and the most "breeders" in holland have proved that with the crap that they produce . Hybrids are very unstable and it takes generations of VERY carefull breeding to stabilise them . The real road to quality is to breed pure starins raising the quality each generation by breeding the strongest males with the strongest females . Of cource at some point one might try to cross strains but thats as difficult as mixing hash sorts in a joint . Most of the time it ruins the quality off the high as it usualy halves the good qualitys of both . Thats the reason that the swiss and canadians got such a good reputation for growing good grass over the last years . Because they bred for strength and not just big fat stinky plastic grass like you get in most coffee shops in holland . Most of the seeds that came to holland came from the US , seatle , oregon and california . The dutch ruined the quality and now the grass that comes out of the US is generaly better .

The description of the highs seed producers publish are pure adverts and fantasy descriptions . Start to breed and you will see what i mean but it will take you 7 - 10 years to get something good and stabil .

I totally agree even in my limited experience. Here I can get hooked up with a wide variety of strains that are supposedly for example 60% indica, 40% sativa (whatever that means.)

In the end I've noticed no difference between these crossed strains other than perhaps THC content. Maybe when they are absolutely fresh and new you notice a bit of a difference for the first few days. Besides, fry a bit in oil and munch it or try putting a couple buds on the hot knives and i'd be hard pressed to tell the difference--either way i'm going to be very, very fucking cerebrally trippy high.

I have always really wanted to compare a good sativa and a good indica, but I guess the only way that is ever going to happen is if I move out to the countryside and get me some good seeds..

"move out to the countryside and get me some good seeds.."

My dream of paradise !!!! ( Plus 3 or 4 big fat pit bulls ) I just cant imagine getting good , pure starins anymore . I spent years looking and couldnt find any . I`d have to find some realy old , long time growers . Or growers that have been isolated for 20 years . ( i did have a jehovas witness that grew grass and he had three sorts . One that was ready in the middle of august and you could smoke on the first of september . One that came two weeks later . And a mega big tree sort that came in october . But he got a guilty conscience and stopped growing + the pigs got my seeds so it gone now = the biggest mistake off my life ) Or marry into the Dronkers family..............

GOD a dit:
( i did have a jehovas witness that grew grass and he had three sorts

You just don't know how that made my day.

He was born in a witness family , all his relatives were witnesses and he used to go to the services and every time i went to visit him we had a bible study session or he wouldnt let me in . He didnt wear witness clothes , he wore levis and a leather jacket , liked motor bikes and drank 6 beers a night . He also smoked joints , but he wouldnt smoke the buds or the hash , he only smoked normal leaves . He said the leaves just get you high and after a day you are normal again and that the rest had two principles , one that got you high and one that got you physical stoned = pass out on the couch . He said the physical principle took weeks to wear off and ruined the high . I agree with him . The other witnesses didnt like him because he refused to believe what they told him that he had to . He had his own views of what the things in the bible ment and said when someone shows me a pssage where it say "Thou shalt not grow and smoke grass" that hed give it up . If you know the witnesses services you`ll know that there is a sort of godly coolness hyerarchy and the more cool you are the nearer your allowed to sit to the realy cool bosses . He had to sit at the back on his own and the others either ignolred him or tryed to "help" him .

He had an alotment and grew between 30 and 100 plants each year = 15 to 30 kilos of dry grass a year . + Loads of hash . Finger hash and sieved . The neighbours all new but shut up because he used to flip out and shout at them if they got on his nerves . One time the pigs came round and wanted to check if he was the one who was dumping blue shit in the stream at the bottom of his garden . They saw all the plants and didnt realise what they were . They even sent a helicopter to take arial fotos of the polution . He got copys of pictures of his garden with the papers they sent him and you could clearly see the dope forest . (= he had god on his side) Now he has become a "good" witness = a clone and pretends he doesnt know me when he sees me .

i wonder what jehova did that they needed so many witnesses?

i have a favorite grass and its one that is far from being a pure strain. Pure Power Plant, its difficult to grow, it hermaphrodises if you look at it funny and it can be smelled at the end of my street on a calm day.
none of my friends like it very much (maybe thats why i do) and some wont touch it at all.
on paper it isnt all that strong ~14% but the effects are very much like a psychadelic. too much will leave you confused and paranoid. i also grow at least one other along side for more regular smoking.

its true it is getting difficult to find pure strains. people are taking seeds to thailand and india while on there holidays and the local farmers are using them often because they will produce higher yields and farmers are farmers. a friend recently smoked red beard skunk while on holiday in jamaica.
it may still be possible to find pure breeds in more remote places. someone should be growing them with the intention of keeping them alive

If you know the witnesses services

far too well i'm afraid. haven't gone near one in a long time though. As for "having your own view of things".. the term "independent thinking" is basically used as a pejorative. seen the become a clone thing a bit too often as well. sometimes, occasionally people wake up from it..

(= he had god on his side) .

damn straight, jehova made all that weed for a reason!

hmm probably the "breeding" of holy people in sects can be seen as normal, because of the paradoxes and delusions that the members have to accept ???

well of course it's always "THE TRUTH" according to their view...

@GOD the dude you describe seems like a cool guy trapped in the belief-system of his sect...however i didn't understand all about it... did you tell us about this guy, because of his apparently huge growings and the pollution, because of the reference to adding flavour to cannabis???

Did he sell all the rest weed as he only smoked the leafs or did he give it to the sect or did he make mass money for his sect by that? What was the pollution thing about ??

bah what a ignorant deluded retard telling you he having become a "good" witness... brainwashed bastard.... a witness of what ???? yeah a witness of his own downfall and his existence as a slave.... pathetic...

peace.

I have a built-in distrust of anyone who uses the T word. Possibly from my exposure to this religion. Funny how JWs refer to their belief as "the truth." Often without even thinking, by habit, as a noun.

I wish I could remember the quote but the internet is failing me here. Something about how confusing insolence with freedom is the mark of the slave.

A believer on the other hand would possibly respond proudly "I am a slave of Christ." When really the believer is just blindly following what men tell him to do, not Christ.

Small religious groups like these tend to share some behavioral traits of society in general. How many people out there genuinely like being told what to do, what is right from wrong by the authorities? How many people out there confuse legality with morality?

Anyway this is dethreading the thread and is almost it's own topic now, ooops!
