That last Infected album is soooo bad.
They moved to California, to the "Hollywood scene" and you can hear that clearly on their last album.
It's so commercial, with the hiphop part and shit like that.
It doesn't have anything to do with the original spirit of the music anymore.
Sorry PsyNad, I respect everybody's opinion, but also am not afraid to give my own
Psytrance did evolve from Goatrance though.
Goa-trance did originate from Goa (jam sessions with guitars and "the first" drumcomputers (mostely 303's), but was spread fast and yes also reached England within no-time.
It did however start in Goa beginning in the 1980's
It still had to embrace the influences of styles like EBM and such so was formed a bit later, but it did originate from different styles in the state of Goa, India.
The fact that a lot of Psytrance comes from Isreali producers is because they have/had to serve in the army, so some went to Goa after having served in the war to party away their traumas, also some to avoid military draft.
It's common that "youngsters" go on a journey and leave the country after military draft.
The fact that you, GOD, don't like Goa-trance is probably because most of it is a lot simpler, it had to evolve.
The 2 styles are very similar in terms of techniques and sounds.
Simon Posford, has made some Hallucinogen albums before starting Shpongle, but it is clear that Simon Posford is the guy behind the tricks.
(although Shpongle is not Goa nor Psy)
He is less musical, but has more knowledge of the technical aspects of music.
Raja Ram is very musical, only went bad with TIP records, because there's a lot of shit comming out on that label.
Cheap ass psytrance remixes of existing tracks.
High party-feeling commercial shit.
But together as Shpongle
In the end, music is the thing you can keep on discussing about and it's all about if you like it or not.
But in my opinion...... hahaha LOL
In the end I do like Psytrance better then Goatrance.
Only I still think a lot of Psytrance (as with almost any style/genre) has too much the 13 in a dozen feeling.
Too much of the same style of tracks and styles.
I just get out what I like (as everybody does with all music)
*hmmm, still feel like I'm missing some points here, but I'm way to tired to get into them and fuck all the theories and history, MUSIC IS FOR ENJOYMENT, not to discuss about.
You like it, or not!
