You can't add "food" to the harvest. You have to remember that a mushroom grows from a spore. They don't actually eat any thing but they do need CO2 + H2O to survive.
The dunk tek simply replenished the substrate with H2O which is really the mushroom's "Food".
There is usually no need to dunk the substrate after the first or even second harvest because the water is retained for quite sometime. Not to mention the more you dunk your cake the bigger the chance you take on getting a contamination.
General rule is 1 dunk after harvest #3. That will usually yield 2 more harvest.

I've bought the "mushroom growing made easy" video from azarius. I've watched it carefully and it seems to contain all the important issues to every one who wants to start growing them... As soon as I can, I will start my own production...
yeah , for example i can t find brown rice flour anywhere !
when i ask in shops the owners open their eyes wide like idiots .
lol for the vermiculite i searched everywhere and finaly i found 20 kg of it in a bag that was in my cellar ( ... ) ,now i have rye grain , but i still need petri dishes , potato dextrose agar , yeast , a desinfector spray, i must build a glove box , i tried many times to grow shrooms but i always got comtaminations , because i can t find this damn equipment ! i remember the cake of home made white rice flour (lol) , i saw a single pinhead then i took the cake carefully in my cleaned hand to look closer and i saw the the back of it was all roten

Using the Pef-TEK! It´s easy and simple!
U can buy brown rice (integral) and crush it into powder! It´s best for mushroom growing!
Here it toke me a while to get vermiculite but finally i discovered that one of the only 2 sellers was just nearby! /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
As for contamination isn´t really important a glove box!
If u use the pressure coocker everything will be sterilezed!
In addcition to that u only need do wear mask and cirurgical gloves while doing the job! And when u innoculate the cakes everytime u change cake, u must heat up the needle!

I have an awsome guide that I put together if you want it. It's using the PF-Tek but it's a step by step idiot proof version. It's in adobe acrobat format and when your print it out, it turns into a booklet. Just put the staple in the middle and you'll have a full color guide.

i have a book so i know all the processes , my problem is the sterility , i live in belgium and theres riceflour of any sort in the food shops , in fact there aren t any health food store , i dont even know what thats mean , vermiculite is quite easy to find , go to a construction materials shop , the prices are 15 euro for 50 l something like that

Hey guys, Psycho-forum rooky here.
I was wondering. A few friends and I where planning on buying some cubensis growkits from azarius. And I was thinking to do this 'dunking' of the mycelium-cake after 3rd harvest. Is this also possible with the pre-fab growkit ? It would be nice to get more than a few harvests out of those /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

What about smoking ? I smoke reefs quite regularly in my room. Right next to the computer is where I wanted to place them. Any coments on that ?

Ooohh, I don't have much room here actually. I have one room with an attic where I sleep and the kitchen wich is VERRY small. maybe I can place them behind the curtain on the window-sill next to the San Pedro's I want to order to.
Then they will be less disturbed and not open to the rest of the room, I can turn them every other day or something, do you think this will be some sort of solution ? or do I have to build a seperate grow-room inside my room (16m2 /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif )
