Living room - Come down

This song is so nice :D

Thee Silver Mount Zion Orchestral, Memorial & Tra-la-la-band - There's a River in the Valley Made of Melting Snow

Mystery and wonder did light up the valley
To be beat back by dark clouds
And a harsh reeking wind

And that battle staggered through three awful months now
To stop for a minute
To start up again

Your hands like birds in the trees
The trees themselves was all on fire
Your hips on mine make a choir
Singing "Baruch atah adonai"

And the river never made it to the lake
So the lake surrendered to the mountains
And the mountain's heart did fucking break
At the sight
Of your nervous hands

And oh, my love, so gently breathing
So my heart does softly swell
So her and me did greet the evening
With much red wine and giddy yells

In these times of wandering soldiers
Building towers on ruined land
I hold my love to my belly
And her feel breath fall across my hands

I have grown tired of the struggle
And I've grown tired of making plans
I think I'll quit to the valley
Regain my strength and start again

Where once we were some clumsy army
And now we are just lazy hens
I think I'll quit to the valley
'Till the light moves me again

So let's link arms, sisters and brothers
And let's promise not to retreat
Well, there is glory in our failure
So let's march to the rhythm of fatigue

To live our lives without leaders
To live in joy without fear
Let's walk together to the valley
And let the lights redeem our tears

Moving on, until as god, I get banned.

Cup Of Wonder lyrics

May I make my fond excuses
for the lateness of the hour,
but we accept your invitation, and we bring you Beltane's flower.
For the May Day is the great day, sung along the old straight track.
And those who ancient lines did lay
will heed the song that calls them back.
Pass the word and pass the lady, pass the plate to all who hunger.
Pass the wit of ancient wisdom, pass the cup of crimson wonder.

Ask the green man where he comes from, ask the cup that fills with red.
Ask the old grey standing stones that show the sun its way to bed.
Question all as to their ways,
and learn the secrets that they hold.
Walk the lines of nature's palm
crossed with silver and with gold.
Pass the cup and pass the lady, pass the plate to all who hunger.
Pass the wit of ancient wisdom, pass the cup of crimson wonder.

Join in black December's sadness,
lie in August's welcome corn.
Stir the cup that's ever-filling
with the blood of all that's born.
But the May Day is the great day, sung along the old straight track.
And those who ancient lines did lay
will heed this song that calls them back.
Pass the word and pass the lady, pass the plate to all who hunger.
Pass the wit of ancient wisdom, pass the cup of crimson wonder.

Soundgarden 4th of july

Shower in the dark day
Clean sparks driving down
Cool in the waterway
Where the baptized drown
Naked in the cold sun
Breathing life like fire
Thought I was the only one
But that was just a lie

Cause I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the 4th of july

Pale in the flare light
The scared light cracks & disappears
And leads the scorched ones here
And everywhere no one cares
The fire is spreading
And no one wants to speak about it
Down in the hole
Jesus tries to crack a smile
Beneath another shovel load

And I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the 4th of july

Now Im in control
Now Im in the fall out
Once asleep but now I stand
And I still remember
Your sweet everything
Light a roman candle
And hold it in your hand

Cause I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the 4th of july

"In My Secret Life"

I saw you this morning.
You were moving so fast.
Can’t seem to loosen my grip
On the past.
And I miss you so much.
There’s no one in sight.
And we’re still making love
In My Secret Life.

I smile when I’m angry.
I cheat and I lie.
I do what I have to do
To get by.
But I know what is wrong,
And I know what is right.
And I’d die for the truth
In My Secret Life.

Hold on, hold on, my brother.
My sister, hold on tight.
I finally got my orders.
I’ll be marching through the morning,
Marching through the night,
Moving cross the borders
Of My Secret Life.

Looked through the paper.
Makes you want to cry.
Nobody cares if the people
Live or die.
And the dealer wants you thinking
That it’s either black or white.
Thank G-d it’s not that simple
In My Secret Life.

I bite my lip.
I buy what I’m told:
From the latest hit,
To the wisdom of old.
But I’m always alone.
And my heart is like ice.
And it’s crowded and cold
In My Secret Life.

I like this In My Secret Life a lot better.
I'm not a big fan of Lennard Cohen, but I'm a fan of Lennard Cohen Covers

Till Bronner feat. Carla Bruni
It's a slow Jazz version

Caduceus Mercurius a dit:
I really like the riff you hear at 0:40. Nebula - Full Throtle
Hehe, Stoner massive!

Too bad I can't find his "Shpongle gonne bad song" but there's an artist I really love. Plays all kinds of acoustic instruments and knows a lot about electronic editting and tricks.
His album is really rich, some Irish and Folk influences, but also loads of electronica and it's like my kind of Shpongle :D

Sunken Foal - Cash Poor

If you want to hear one of the most crazy melodies that goes up and down and round and round, check out The Rotunda on his Myspace

Ahuaeynjxs a dit:
Why are you e-puking?

Hmmm, Jethro Tull, sweet... I didn't know this song, but the sound of Tull brings back fond shroom memories.

The following is a very fine recording of Genesis, playing in a Belgium TV studio in 1972. Peter Gabriel singing, playing flute and kicking a bass drum, Phil Collins playing drums and Steve Hackett playing lead guitar.

The Musical Box

"While Henry Hamilton-Smythe minor ( 8 ) was playing croquet with Cynthia Jane De Blaise-William ( 9 ), sweet smiling Cynthia raised her mallet high and gracefully removed Henry's head. Two weeks later, in Henry's nursery, she discovered his treasured musical box. Eagerly she opened it and as "Old King Cole" began to play, a small spirit-figure appeared. Henry had returned - but not for long, for as he stood in the room his body began ageing rapidly, leaving a child's mind inside. A lifetime's desires surged through him. Unfortunately the attempt to persuade Cynthia Jane to fulfill his romantic desire led his nurse to the nursery to investigate the noise. Instinctively she hurled the musical box at the bearded child, destroying both."

Lyrics:

Play me "Old King Cole"
that I may join with you,
all your hearts now seem so far from me
it hardly seems to matter now.
And the nurse will tell you lies
of a Kingdom beyond the skies.
But I'm lost within this half-world,
it hardly seems to matter now.

Play me my song,
here it comes again.
Play me my song,
here it comes again.

Just a little bit,
just a little bit more time,
time left to live out my life.

Play me my song,
here it comes again.
Play me my song,
here it comes again.

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,
and a merry old soul was he.
So he called for his pipe,
and he called for his bowl,
and he called the his fiddlers three.
And the clock, tick tock,
on the mantlepiece,
and I want,
and I fell,
and I know,
and I touch the wall.

She's a lady, she's got time.
Brush back you hair, and let me get to know your face.
She's a lady, she's mine.
Brush back you hair, and let me get to know your flesh.

I've been waiting here for so long
and all this time that passed me by.
It doesn't seem to matter now.

You stand there with your fixed expression
casting doubt on all I have to say.

Why don't you touch me, touch me?
Why don't you touch me, touch me?
Touch me now, now now, now, now ...

I'm e-puking to pandemonic rap and heavy distortion... You know me ! *shudders*

Don't NIN and Soundgarden also use heavy distortion? I find most stonerrock (Nebula, Queens of the Stone Age, Fu Manchu, the Atomic Bitchwax, Monster Magnet) very melodic, soothing and uplifting. It has nothing to do with hard rock or black metal. Well, very little at least.

I really like this song, from the Dutch band 35007: Sea of Tranquility

Yeah , they do make me puke, exept when I have already puked from other puking sources, like when I posted those.

I personally don't listen anymore to music with lyrics, or harmonic stuff in the chromatic scale when I am alone... it makes me feel very limited and I ALWAYS hear other songs... just like every freakin artist uses old remashed models.

To me as soon as I am a psychonaut, raga based music or instrumental traditional is the only way to go.

But I still posted those lyrics because I find it interesting how they oppose the lyrics that space posted with the demoniac rap. In my mind its just like... so you play on the black notes, or the white notes ?

Rofl... isn't this where ? Haven't you heard, it's a battle of words ?

"My approach to music is very deep. I do not compromise. Indian music is based on spiritualism and was practiced and learned to know the Supreme Truth. A musician must lift up the souls of the listeners and take them towards Space. This is the history of Indian music. "
