some problems of grow and grow box

i injected the spores (hawaiian cubes) into the jars around 5 hours ago. only 1 out of the 12 jars has shown any progress, but this jar is approximately 1/3 of the sides and all of the bottom covered with mycelium.

can someone tell me what i'm doing right and how i can get all the other jars to go along? haha

Wow nice job!

Im just starting out, And so far I cant find a place that will send Hawaiian spores here... Im thinking B+ but if you know aplace that can help me out it would be nice.

You positive its mycelium growth? That is bizarre, yet very cool if it is true.

posted the same on shroomery and they reached a consensus on contamination, most likely a cobweb mold.

I am building a fruiting chamber based on the design described Here.

I'm using about a 50 gallon tub and am planning to buy a 100W heater that will be set to around 88-90 so as to make the chamber around 86 and also evaporate the water to humidify. There will also be a 20 gallon air pump with an air rock attached to it below water for oxygen release and (according to the design) humidity.

My question is this. Once I drop the temp for fruiting to 76 or roughly 78 on the heater, will the temperature of the aquarium heater be sufficient to produce enough humidity for fruiting or will it no longer evaporate the water at a rate fast enough to properly humidify? Does the air pump and the O2 rocks actually produce humidity or just oxygen?

Basically, will this work effectively?

Not that I am experienced but I have some knowledge perhaps.
Do you use this system only for humidity or for watering as well?
Imho the humidity is not that important, actually I'd rather keep the plants dry to prevent bud rot and all sorts of other uninvited complications and use a hydrophonic system (can be made cheaply) to water the plants three times a day at the bottem..

Edit: ow srry  were not talking about canna here are we? just got up ;)

nice chamber. i looked at the sketches and i can imagine that this will work fine!

but i think it could work much easier.
why don't you take a box and seperate it into 2 levels like described in the link. fill the bottom level with water and put a heater inside. put your shrooms on the top level. but you have also assure fresh air in the inside. either with fans like in the link or just open the box once a day for a few minutes.
the water will be heated and evaporated. inside the box you have a constant temperature and a high humidity. (just regulate the heater a few hours before you put your mycelium in it to have the right temperature)

this is like a construction i am using. much cheaper and simpler, but works also great! could not imagine better mushies ;)

Aquarium heater,1 small size silicon tube connected to an air pump,1 large size silicon tube, box=>growbox .

But the one ur a building is really good, maybe ill try too someday,no time for now

Bastiaan: Don't worry about it. The other day I got a tattoo and had some A&D ointment for it. I was pretty high after smoking a couple bowls and almost used that instead of my toothpaste. As I was brushing my teeth laughing about it and thinking about how I had just dodged a bullet, I noticed I wasn't using my toothbrush. We all space.

innerCartoon: I appreciate the suggestion but I was hoping to use the bottom later for casing pans as well. Putting a space heater in there (if that is what you meant) would create too much heat and I do not know how to wire a wafer thermostat in to shut it off once it has reached a certain temp. The aquarium heater in the water I was hoping would kill two birds with one stone so to speak, creating both heat and humidity. I just didn't take the humidity into consideration during the fruiting stage seeing as how I have to drop the temp.

Trustafari: I seem to recall seeing your post about this somewhere but could you elaborate a little into how exactly it works. What is the construction, what does the larger tube do, does the smaller tube go into a reservoir like the one I am trying to build etc. etc.

thank you for the speedy replies! they are appreciated!

Hello 2 weeks ago, I ordered 2 growbox from shayanashop.
I strictly followed the instructions guide, but after 11 days still nothing, is it normal ?
Because few forums, I found many guys who had their boxs almost ready at 10 days.
I can post picts if you want, sorry for my bad english.

regards

wait a few days more. it often takes a few days longer till the first tiny hats appear.

And when they do appear, they grow like mushrooms:D

I always did it in summer, in my experience even around 23 oC they grow slow, they only started to go quickly above 25 oC.

maybe the temperature was slightly too low or so, and because of that they come late???

Yes maybe the temperature, I can try to up the heat, I guess actually it's around 20-21°C.
Because 12 days today, and still nothing, crap...

this is a bad quality picture from my iphone, but you can see..

regards

hold on some more time, i think a growbox of mine once took like 2 weeks or so as far as i can remember, as well! so no panic!

Ok here we are, this morning I woke up and seven small mushroom were growings up.AwESOME because yetesterday nothing...

:D :D :D :D , I will keep you informed, and put more bests quality pictures.

Now all you gotta do is give them enough fresh air every day but keep the moisture up inside the bag, then don't harvest too late or the shrooms will cover everything in black spores (doesn't matter that much, but better harvest before).

After the first flush is all picked, dunk the cake in water for up to 24 hours. It will refresh the mycelium and the next flush will be even more and bigger mushrooms.
