Question about Cubensis Growbox

I'm almost going to harvest. The manual states you should remove all little shrooms. Now I'm wondering if I should remove all the little shrooms on the side as well. And if so how should I do that, without contamining the shrooms.

No that is only going to be risky. Just leave the ones on the side, they will die and look ugly but it will be ok for a few flushes more. Sometimes these mushrooms will find there way outside the box.

Well today was my first harvest and I got about 100grams fresh. .

Though I've got some questions (again). Why are some shrooms turning blue (even before I harvested them, didn't I fan the kit enough?). As you can see on the second photo, there are also some little shrooms (they stopped growing and started shrinking :S). Can I use them too, or should I throw them away?

Turning blue is a normal reaction, especially if the mushrooms have been handled. It's result of oxidation and is nothing to worry about.

Not all the shrooms grow to full size, some stop at a very early stage and are called aborts. They are also ok to use and are claimed by some sources to be richer in alkaloid concentration than normal sized shrooms.

Anyhow, it seems you got a nice flush. Congratulations!

harvested 3. flush... very big ones showed up. 170g fresh. made some sporeprints and started pf-tek yesterday. mixed some fresh vermiculite and rice
sterilised them in the pressurecooker. made only two cakes 'cause it's an just an
attempt. I don't know if i worked sterile enough when making the sporesyringe. so i'll see..

Deimos and Twista: Do you have the large or the medium kit?

I'm wondering cuz I have 2(!) large grow kits (even if they're quite puny imho) and I don't want to get a flush of 90-150 gr. when Azarius says "up to... 400-600 gr. of fresh mushrooms". I'm a bit worried here

I've got the large kit. But remember that you'll get 3-4 flushes. So when each flush is about 100grams, you'll end up with 400gram.

i've got the medium kit but it's like deimos said.. you'll gonna get 3 to 4 flushes maybe more and the complete harvest is about 400g fresh.. that's it.

looks really good for a 1st time grower

The bluing comes from oxidation of psilocybin (bruising like on a fruit essentially)
And Is Nothing to worry about. Just refrigerate them an use within a week or dry em up and store them in an airtight glass jar.

the other jar seems to be contaminated... slowly mycel growing and one little green/dark spot. i'm not really sure.. no pics sorry..

okay, one jar was eaten by contam but the other is still great. but needs a bit long. i did some petri dishes with different spores and grow mycelium now.
