Need help for mushrooms identification

Well, I don't know anyone whos is an expert. So I guess I have to learn it myself, and eventually with some help from people here. In case I go forward with explorations in finding mushrooms in this place, I'll post my doubts on the forum.

Yes, this time of the year I already thought it wouldn't be the best for mushroom picking. Maybe spring is the best time?
Summer here is pretty hot.

Well, as far as I know, most of what you see in the picture is uncultivated, unfertilized and unploughed fields/mountains. It's pretty clean over here.
Most of it are trees, shrubs and grass.

Today the sky was clean, and the moon was high and shiny. The light reflected on the top of the mountains, where it was with snow, and made a beautifull view. The people with whom I'm living with, told me that when it snows really 'bad', and the moon is full with clean sky, it looks almost as if it was day. Due to the reflect of the light in the snow.

I havent bought or even looked for any books for a few years . The best book i can recomend you is "Psilocybin mushrooms of the world - An identification guide" by Paul Stamets because as it says its about Psilocybin mushrooms of the world so no mater where you are it should be able to help you to identify them . Its a lovely book with 130 colour fotos in it so i personaly wouldnt take it with me if i ever went mushroom picking again . If i were you i would get it , read it a few times and copy the pages out that you need and take them with you in a clip file ( Like they keep papers in in an office ) when you go hunting .

Thank you very much for the information.

When I have the opportunity, I will surely buy it.

I hope I find something here.

Am I right that these are certainly not psilocybe because they have white gills?
I know shit about identifiying mushrooms, but I think psilocybe have to have dark gills, right?

Oui !

Gill color is not 100% definitive either, young caps can have light-colored gills (but not white, indeed)

There are some good resources on identification online as well. There are some links on Erowid, and ofcourse in the shroomery mushroom hunting forums there is lots of information! :)

The stem length , the stem width , the proportions to the cap , the cap shape , in what they were growing plus the gills .

Theres enough good info here . No need to go to forums mainly full of confused begginers .

GOD a dit:

On mushroom hunting? The shroomery is full of experts, there's lots of pictures and it's full of identicifation request topics, which are an excellent tool for learning about how different kinds of active psilocybes look :D Well, for me at least it was very useful to look around there.

I agree with JJJ. The shroomery mushroom hunting forum is a great way to learn mushroom identification. The trusted identifiers on that site have never let me down. Plus when something interesting and unknown comes around there's plenty of members who are willing to do microscopy to get down to the exact ID.

In fact, more than 5 new species have been discovered on the shroomery hunting forum in the last 12-16 months, plus a lot of rare finds like active Hypholomas and the rare elusive Psilocybe cyanofibrillosa.

misfit, this forum isnt the place for you by judging this topic. Take a look at shroomery.org/forums/ . They will help you identify mushrooms and ENCOURAGE you to hunt for mushrooms!

+1

+2!

surely not magics, those mushrooms.

And I agree, the shrommery forum is great
