i find it boosts creative thinking(i write) but often i lose the thread and cant finish what ive started.

Yes I find this too. On saturday I smoked large amount of cannabis, and was doing a English FSE on "Brave New World", and my creative thinking was in action and I was writing some good stuff about social conditioning and religion. But I often got lost in the middle of paragraphs, having to read the whole thing again, only to get lost again, then it was time for some fresh air...

But when this thread was started, I labeled myself a daily smoker. Usually 3-4 times a day. Now I have cut down a lot! I smoke anywhere from 2-4 times a week now, and only once on that day, other than the saturday that just passed :weedman:

PEACE & LOVE

i agree that it doesn't make for a very consistent thought thread, but it's a continuous thread nonetheless
i actually rather enjoy utilizing the inconsistent nature of THC induced thoughts in my creative work, but i generally work with feelings / emotions / intuitions rather than narratives

yes, intuitive like things and stuff attributed to the right hemisphere and such but when you need linear thinking and categorizing or left hemisphere stuff you seem to go too fast to yourself. This is tiresome but it goes away or at least is greatly reduced with experience and time... at least to me that was the case. For instance I can write coherent semi-long posts while very high now 8)

exactly, the mind races ahead while the fingers struggle to keep up. its very frustrating. i suppose a dictaphone would help. you could record it as it comes to you and write it later at your leasure. ive often thaught of that then it slips my mind. im not an artist but i find i can paint when im stoned(oils) and get into textures

Who smokes while studying?

Last week I was studying "Levenswetenschappen" (The sciences of life, biology in a bigger context) while being constantly stoned, it just went better :P
I did a very good exam. But now I have to study physics and it's just too hard for studying stoned :(

Using small amounts of cannabis helps to concentrate , abusing it causes a sort of amnesia . I was going to explain that scientificaly but i forgot what i wanted to say in the middle of the sentan..............

Lately I have been smoking ganj everyday. After being high 24\7 for about 2 weeks then being dry for 3 days is a bitch. Oh well only 1 more day until I can get some potent fresh fluffy tasty smokey bc buds. Oh god why meeeee!?

i smoked a lot of weed too in the last times ... but i was also successful in the works for the university... i did the informatics homeworks totally stoned and always passed.

well but the other side of the coin: sometimes in the university i got suddenly really tired and sleepy and stayed like that for some time or i would suddenly be wide awake ... :weedman:

but i suppose that's because of the infrequency of the use of weed. well relatively infrequent, because sometimes i stop for some days or on some days i smoke 5 times as much as on other days and that's why the THC - rhythm in my body isn't really in a REAL balance. so what i needed to do longterm to prevent that would be to smoke every day OR to stop smoking and try another THC - rhythm in my body. for example stop for 4 months or something and then sometimes smoke a joint ... maybe twice in the week ....

but well i'll see ... let me just take a hit of the bong for this and see where it will take me. :P

hmmm.... actually i needed to think about it as another rhythm. a rhythm of THC and the combustion stuff of weed and tobacco in my body...
i'd love to have a vaporizer and have a pure THC - rhythm.

peace :weedman:

Who smokes while studying?

ME! I actually study Biology much better stoned. It increases my concentration, also my interest in the subject. While stoned and learning about neurotransmitters, DNA replication, Photosynthesis, or Cellular Respiration, it just BLOW my mind away how this is all happening either inside us, or in plants outside. This increase in interest makes me WANT to learn what it is all about, therefore making it easier to embed into my mind.

But now I have to study physics and it's just too hard for studying stoned

I have studied for Physics stoned many times, and I have aced the class. I use small amounts, and it helps me a lot. Larger amounts tend to make me very confused.

PEACE & LOVE

As a college student, I smoke weed so long as I don't have finals, exams, or tests I need to study for at least two days after I smoke. So this is about three to four times a week. I find getting high and writing papers doesn't work out well, what with me being a History major and being scatterbrained doesn't help in remembering dates and events from the stacks of books I have to read.

To do the study while high thing one has to be careful, right? How much do the practitioners here smoke when preparing for an exam? Supposing a good source of grass it would be what, 2-3 puffs? I have only smoked for an exam once but maybe in the future I'll try again.

when i was in uni i pretty much gave up through the week otherwise i would remember nothing. ive had jobs (chef, barman) where i wouldnt smoke because it ruined my memory too. and ive had jobs where a smoke kept me sane.
sometimes its apropriate, sometimes not

Yes but like user1919 has said smoking just a bit is helpful because it gives increased concentration. We are talking (I think!) about threshold doses that are only barely felt.

I beg to differ in some points... in ain´t that ganja spoils your short term memory or so... I believe that the thing goin on is that sometimes, when high, your brain fills with ideas and thoughts... all very synced but our mouths or our speed to take notice into those ideas is much slower than the rush we get, so, sometimes it feels as if you lose your memory... for example, I´ve never had such complaint, sometimes I get distracted from what I was doin... but if I flow with my trip instead of controlling it, which I´ve found is practicaly crazy and needless, and I´ll have the best trips I can achieve, whatever it is, writing (which I do), reading, dancing, socializing, etc.

I´m not saying ganaj is like a miracle plant, but rest assured, that, as long as you know it and you know yourself... you´ll never collide, in other words, lose memory or concentration or stamina or whatever =P

PLUR.

Xuen, I have thought and read about the subject: I think it's bullshit. Yes, while under the effect of it our memory becomes altered in some way, some might say impaired, but I bet those people don't count the lots of memories while high that we remember and were thought forgotten. I'm talking about things from years ago, maybe infant memories. Because the complaints are about the short-term memory, which can be dealt with by enough weed experience and going with the flow, as you said, trying to control things usually gets nowhere, the long-term memory is fine, is not like you suffer from mental lagoons, you remember everything that happened while high (plus to recall things from LTM you need them gone through STM, don't you?) so then what? it doesn't hold up. I really don't think healthy smoking of weed impairs memory in along term way whatsoever.

Well said mate, I don´t know if I made my point right, but you certainly cleared it out for me, hehehe.

Ususally one gram spread over an entire day. Some days I don't smoke till the afternoon. The day before an exam, I go to sleep sober and don't smoke till after the exam.
My last exam is friday and I'm having a hard time to get myself to study now. I'm having exams for over a month now :wasted:

Someone asked what happened to a regular smoker after 15 years or so... I have a friend who smoked continuously every day from age 15 to age 32 (I really don't think he stopped for more than a day or so once) and he earns a very good living as an engineer in Switzerland today (guess why he chose to work in Switzerland - he could even chose where he wanted to work, damnit!)

I just wasn't the type for smoking daily, I tried it from 17 to 21, and then I was forced to stop with clinical depression and whatnot. I'm not saying I wouldn't have had the depression without the weed (and some other stuff, ehem...)
I can't tell for sure, but I think the early breakdown helped adjust my life early on - well, at least I think so... you never know, do you?

Today I can be blown away with just a little bit of good weed. I always have to remember that only a tiny little bit of weed will thrust me into outer space ;)

i smoked loads for 20 years, every day and although i have suffered from depression it was not the weed that caused it. im sure it didnt help though. as for memory, well, i smoked loads for 20 years, and although i have suffered......
