An English writer emitted the theory that in the 60's, when the US government realized that people that take LSD/Marijuana have stopped to lead a normal (consumerist) life. They stop working, or work less, they buy less, they are against war etc. That's exactly what every government doesn't want : a pacifist non-consumerist citizen.

Oh I forgot : the aim is not necessarily legalization, we have to be realist, we cannot make governments legalize psychedelics that easily. We have to set reachable objectives, such as make people aware that there is a part of the population that uses drug without being addicted or harmed. I think that the aim is first to inform people about the psychonautic scene.

But there is a drawback : mass media can easily blur the information and use it against us, for example by putting forward that many psychonauts are just junkies in disguise.



And I'd like to add another important point : do we really need a legalization ? Are we unable to get weed/shrooms/LSD even if it's prohibited ? Is it that irritating to see people talking about drugs while they don't know any fucking thing about it ? Because the problem with this project is that we can eventually make things move, but first we have to compare drawbacks and advantages. The problem is that this project could very be a disaster, not only because we won't be able to reach public opinion, but also because after this episode all of us will be on a black list and all of our parcels/mails/communications/ will be analyzed. In other words, we won't be able to grow psychedelics at home anymore.

I have no idea. I also have no idea if it is really needed...resp. if the public would respond right. I can easily imagine that most people will think that "spiritual use" is only an excuse to have fun with drugs. And that most people think that "fun" resp. the finding of the own mind should be "natural". Without external help.

Hm, the internet is just a medium that is not taken serious...I mean, depending on what you google you can find out that canna is great or bad, that LSD is good or evil etc. etc. I really would advice sticking to "traditional" media.

Not very realistic. Especially if you also want to make it entertaining.

What are your opinions about the reasons of the prohibition (please no pseudo-scientific or esoteric explanations)?

There are no 'scientific' explanations. The movie Grass gives a good storyline for the prohibition of cannabis. There are some books about how MDMA was outlawed, or LSD. You can't sum it up in one or two statements. It's a long story for each substance, and it differs from country to country.

If I had to limit myself to a 5 minute video, I would focus only on the practical applications of psychedelics: how they have been used in past research and how such research is slowly being allowed again. In a 5 minute promo I would first of all list the ailments cannabis is known to ameliorate. I would then focus on the treatment of migraine with psilocybine, the use of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD patients, LSD and psychotherapy, ibogaine and the treatment of addiction, etc. Perhaps a few statistics and facts about the safety of psychedelic substances, and leave it at that.

5 minute spots wont change anything forget it . Whos going to watch them ? Where are you going to show them ? The normal media is extremely expensive and they would either not show it or do a 2 hour documentry afterwards and destroy it and you to .

perhaps each episode could approach a different topic--traditional usage, psychiatric application, the war on drugs, et cetera

I thought about it. I don't see any possible way to reach people massively. Or at least, I don't see any 100% safe possible way to reach people massively (the virus option is possible, but it will lead all of us to jail).

I think that if we're still able to get psychedelics, we shouldn't attempt anything, otherwise we'll be crushed down in no time.
