Alright, well i've been thinking about life in general for sometime today. I think, we go to school from little kids, useless knowledge shoved down our throats on a day to day basis, and the worst part about it, is we really don't have a choice. If you want to be 'succesful' in life, you must attend University or College. From University or College you have to get a full time job and work most of your life until you retire. Now how is this a good life? Stress is coming outta my ass in every direction due to school/future University/future career. Why do we put useless stress on ourselves. In my opinion, this is not a good way to live life. From the time you enter school to the time you retire, you are left with stress, and lots of it.

Ontop of being aware of this, i'm watching right before my eyes our beautiful world go to waste. :( It is becoming so polluted due to our techonigocal advances, aka cars and our fuel burning machines. It is almost like im contrubiting to this polluting too. I need a car to get to university and back, I use air conditation in this extreme heat, and other stuff that is hurting our earth. I dont want to be a part of this cruel world anymore. I feel like just running away to deep in the interior of Britsh Columiba and living my life how it should be lived and not how society wants me to live it. Also laws saying that we cannot use mind-expanding drugs, all of these negative things I can point out about our world are just coming in and its overloading. I've had enough of this world. Something needs to change, and quick, I want my life back. I do not want to be another 'normal' citizen of society.

Sorry but I just needed to get this out>its not really a question, but rather something that has to be said

PEACE

this is what they call life.

the thing is that we are way too many people. society and such wouldn't work if people don't go to university, study medicine or such.
it would work with way less stress, but that won't bring as much money

I don't like it either.

come on guys, let's make a commune :)

Our society is sick.
It has caught a virus.
That virus is called money.
Money induces capitalism.
Capitalism generates more money.
Making our society even more ill.
One day, our society is going to die.
What will be left?
Psychonauts. Open-minded people. People that understood that happiness and wealth doesn't come from money, and will have learned to live in a different way from how the capitalists dogmas want us to. They are the ones that will survive. The only ones.
Why?
Because to survive, we need others. No one is good at everything. If you're good at building houses, do it for others that are bad at it. Why should we need money for this? What we will get in return is help from others for things we are bad at. If you're good at hunting, you go and hunt for food, and feed hundreds of people. The people you feed will build you house, maintain you in a good health, learn you how to play guitar etc...

WHY DOES EVERYTHING ON EARTH HAS TO HAVE A VALUE IN MONEY????

I'm only 17 years old and in grade 12. I have plans to attend University in the fall. I want to take behavioural neroscience. It is the only thing that interests me a bit. I don't want to contribute to new materialistic things, but rather to the study of our brain and how we act on certain substances. This interests me a lot, but I don't want to go though all the schooling to get my degree. The schooling is about 6-9 years. If I could do something that gets me by in life, I would choose that because the stress that is going to amount from all this schooling is too extreme. How do you guys get by? Did any of our psychonautic people go to school and get a degree, or have you found a way to still surieve without working 80 hours a week at a job you hate?

PEACE

i have a degree and i work 18h per week and i earn 900€. that is enough for me, my guitars and my DIY fever! here in portugal, i have a great job and almost no responsibilities! the problem is...i hate working :) i prefer to study, take another degree, and open another path. money is also a problem for me, because i need to work so i don't starve or live in the street. i have a job in which i have to move around every year, so i cannot start anything serious.
my dream was to have a home, with a garden full of peyotes. with a room in which i could play some drums, some guitar, completely alone, without knowing if it was day or night. then, every saturday, my home filled up with crazy woman and we had an enormous sex party...wait, where was I ? oh, yes, money...a real bitch!

meh, i feel it too man :( every single bit.

Still i stay at school becouse idd like to have a good base to do whatever i'm really gonna want to do (whatever that may be).

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate school, it makes me miserable and depressed...when im not going to school i feel like a person, school is slowly killing me.

The problem is not that i am am not intelligent enough or something, many people i dont even really know say im highly gifted (or whatever? >hoogbegaafd in dutch).

Its just that its KILLING me...and still i go on.....

hey daytripper ... you high?

lol

I feel ya, brother. But if you let this thoughts overcome you there'll be a day you won't get out of bed. You must feel lucky, you see the world as really is and because of it you have x-ray goggles that allow you to see through everyday bullshit; the downside is that also, because of it, you feel alienated. Is a bit like waking up from the matrix, eh? but don't dwell, overthinking and overanalyzing separates the body from the mind, if you're able to see so many wrongness around you, why don't you do something about it? One can be a witness of reality or an active participant, there's no good in realizing all this and staying in a cave like a hermit, is it?

don't think I'm different, I think exactly the same as you, it's really a bitterweet experience; but as I say, I try to bend my reality a bit... we see all this... we must do something about it, no? it's the least we can do!

edit: If you anyway conclude you're fed up of all this and resolve to live in the amazonian jungle in a hut, let me know, I'm coming too :D

trick, when i'm high i don't waste my time in the internet :) so the answer was no.

There always is a choice
You don't have to do ANYTHING

If you believe you don't have a choice and you have to do as they say, they have already won ;)

Because people in general don't want to do more for others than is done for them. Money is a way to keep track of this. It is in essence not bad, it is how it is used that is bad. But that doesn't mean we should abolish it, because i don't think the world is ready for anarchy just yet.

The thing with most states is that they do not control the choice, but they do control the options. I.e. you either have to pay your taxes or you have to go to jail. Either you vote democrat or republican. There is no way out if you still believe in the choice as the only possible choice. A problem cannot be solved by the same level of awareness that created it.

" I feel like just running away to deep into the interior of British Columbia"

I did just that. years ago, in another life. It was awesome, and everything I'd hoped it would be. Unfortunately, I had unfinished business here in the states, and had to return, to get busted, in 2001.
If I can ever get back, I'm returning to the Salmo river valley, near the Washington/Idaho borders. Weed Central, hippie central.

See ya there.

user 1919- Sorry, I didnt read your other post.

I attended university, went through it all.

For shee-it.

As Tim Leary says, it (this) is a plastic, artificial reality. It sucks.

I got busted, now, nearly 7 years later, I work in Carpentry
because;

a) Its under the table, so I dont pay income tax (fuck you Unc Sam)

b) my SSN is not used, which is basically the only way the matrix really has of tracking you, your # of the beast (fuxk ya unca sam)

c) Once you fuck up, the academic credentials are worthless.
The private job sector is VERY unforgiving of transgressions against the status quo.

You best be ready for decades of disappointment if you choose this life.

Get out.

It's best.

exactly my thought. It isn't the money, it is the people. guns don't kill people, people kill people. it's the same way with money.

I'm currently in grammar school, going to do my final exams next semester. I don't think that school is bad. I do like many of the things I learn there (not that I'm one of these guys who study the whole time. I'm the opposite, to say). I mean guys, you are ranting about school, but I think this is somehow one of the best things to happen to you. you wouldn't post and read here, exchanging ideas, etc. if you didn't learn reading in school and such.
what bothered me is that I don't know what I want to study. photography and graphics, or chemistry/mathematics/physics and such.
But what the heck, I think I'm going to study photography. (this thread kinda helped me to find a choice ^^) many friends agreed to that I should do that. Some people said that I could still do it as a hobby, but I always ask them with what time? If I am going to study chemistry or neurology or what ever, I won't have the time to do photography, even not afterwards. Then I'll have to work long etc.
I'm following my dreams, and I think that's good.

hell yeah misery, just follow your dreams.
people told me to go study economics, fuck that, and I went to art school. writing my thesis now on new responsive environments and indirect social interaction through that system.
I paint, design, make motion graphics and websites.
And I like it. A lot. You won't hear me complain or anything on society, sure it sucks, but you have (or can make) enough freedom to make the best of it for yourself. Don't follow the paths that people have walked on before, walk beside them and find new routes. way more fun :)

amen :D

just try to make the best of it. Easier said then done, but hey keep working on it and youll succeed. If you go to work happy everyday you'll feel less like a robot

If you don't neglect your feelings like everybody else it will all be well.

If the things you're thinking are truly valuable,
you'll find some way to make it, some how.
That's what I'm gonna rely on.

I think it might be easier to live without the entire stupid system than everyone makes you believe. Only problem is love.

Of course, it's the easy way out. Gritting your teeth and living in opposition to everything around you, hoping to see changes in others by simply setting your own example; that is the difficult way straight through.

Control…
The plight of humanity

Currency is the enforced artificial incentive to elicit the continued perpetuation of the phylactic consumerist society; however you want to brand this great accumulation of festering cancerous mass on the face of the earth; base line is that it is or has become nothing more than a disease.

Money is the physical expression of corrupt power; inclined, impersonal, a construct of the malignant system, purely built to serve as a complex, unreal matrix of control that constricts your humanity and possibility, unable to change, unable to live.
Money, like a weapon, is designed, formulated and improved upon to cause destruction; the impartial and complete loss of liberty. Guns are primarily designed and marketed to kill, as money is primarily designed and marketed to control. The intent is principally malevolent, yet the actuality of the implement is neutral; innate to the intent of those which control its production and distribution. Using indoctrinate mental conditioning, its use and worth is implied and warped to the whim and desire of the dominator.

Money in itself, even as an intermediary form of trade is totally fraudulent; think of how a man in china works all day and night for so little, just to feed his family, while living in a smog ridden and rat infested apartment with 4 other families; all this, while a decedent politician, banker or financier lives in a mansion and works perhaps a few hours a day, 3 or less days a week and is payed thousands of times more for this. There is no status quo other than to benefit the benefactors.

Everything is dictated to you; options, possibility, freedom; yet you are given the ‘choice’, if it can be called that, to allocate something that industry itself has already elected for its own advantage and profit.
I will say it again: we need a commune where the life dictates the occupation, rather than the occupation dictating the life. A meritocratic, eutopic, symbiotic and equal global village of love; not control.

And who said an abolition of money would bring anarchy? Perhaps if it were elicited within the contemporary, unchanged system of a malignant social order and value. Only anarchy spawns anarchy and we’re already deep in that, from one point of view or another; a social and ideological regulated-anarchy, where only the financial system holds us together in a common ambition of material voracity and personal profit for an unattainable and artificial entity; rather than universal, symbiotic advancement or sustainable coexistence. There are no rules or laws that the highest bidder or the most influential cannot bypass, formulate or contort for their own gain.

The truth of it all is, both the illusory wealth construct and the flawed and tainted education that accompanies its flow are to blame for the almost complete loss of our humanity. We are moulded, disfigured, into an autonomous, uniform, industrial force which has one goal, to monopolise on everything we observe, to get as much as we can and fuck everything and everyone else; because money is power, it is the only truth, the only understanding that is worth anything in such a construct. Currency is in fact worthless; it has no standard, it has no concession, no remorse or pity; it is simply a sharp implement through which the social, ideological and physical structure of human existence is slowly being cut away.

You won't hear me complain or anything on society, sure it sucks, but you have (or can make) enough freedom to make the best of it for yourself.

And where is the honour, the valour, the unanimity, in just finding the best life for yourself; amongst the system, ignoring all other concession and internal contempt, simply to disregard all of the now understood discontent and fallacy of this world and its contaminated social structure, simply to benefit from your own position. This is no better than living like an automaton, another drone of society that perceives, yet ignores all of the world’s problems for their own self preservation and conformability. Examining and hypocritically disrupting as the devastation and constriction swells, yet living your life in decadence and un-renounced false authorization in the hope that it will work itself out, or that you won’t reap the consequences for the encroaching malignancy. This is wrong; how can you comment on such a detrimental issue while desiring to be a part of it?
This seems like a result of the nurtured, indifferent and avaricious attitude and stigma that through tainted education, is incited in the populace of economic society from as early as possible, to ensure the continuation of this system of control.

If the things you're thinking are truly valuable,
you'll find some way to make it, some how.
That's what I'm gonna rely on.

I think it might be easier to live without the entire stupid system than everyone makes you believe. Only problem is love.

Exactly my friend. Create our own paradise outside of their miasma of defamation and disdain; live by example and show the world the true purpose and possibility of life and mankind. Then, when malignant society implodes, we will be the ones who will live on. This is exactly what I plan to achieve. A new order, perhaps begun in some untouched remote corner of the globe, where we can live in peace; many of you have said this would be the ideal escape from the corruption of the past. If we all band together, each with our own gifts and talents, it will be achievable and it will succeed. Together we will bring mankind back to its purpose; back to the nature of all life.

Peace.
