thanks.
@ GOD: I am not upset now, this is how I usually look at Christianity.
ok let's go.
The whole community of Christianity is based on one animal.
The sheep.
The sheep is an animal that lives in herds and has its shepherd.
A christian is a sheep, living in his community, full of compassion and love.
But he has one shepherd.
God.
"God is my shepherd" (wherever from the bible)
This is what the community is based on, in its most profane way: following the rules of God.
Another story showing that is the apple.
Yeah, I love apples.
The apple from the Garden Eden is the key to:
Insight, Wisdom and Shame.
A good christian doesn't eat the forbidden fruit, he follows the orders of his master.
This is more a philosophy than a religion. It is a way of life, not a way of death, with angels and crap. It is a rather, say, communistic way of thinking than a capitalistic.
Do you know why Satan is referred to as a goat? Because a goat is egoistic, lives alone and thinks by itself (figuratively). The goat is the capitalistic asshole, blinding the good sheeps.
That's why the Enlightenment-era was poison for christianity, Enlighteners supported, no, created individualism as it was never there before and made of the sheeps goats.
I believe, that theoretically, if we were all good christians, we could live peacefully and in harmony.
But humans are humans. Bad luck.
First of all, there were always the bad seeds. The goats.
But second, and most important, this system of a Flock of Sheep is VERY attractive for abuse. Especially at a time where the bible wasn't readable for all of us, so-called voices of God began to spread their spores over the good herds.
Later, referred as the Church.
Why?
The sheeps are in harmony but they follow the rules of God. And as the voice of god undeniably speaks the wishes of Him, they are to be followed. And there the church has its power.
That's my view of Christianity but I think it is quite realistic.
And by the way, if you got interested, inform yourself about the Black Metal scene. I personally don't listen to this crap but surprisingly, there is an interesting philosophy behind that. (not always though)
