psychognosis

^^If I had to chose, I would loose my taste, that way I can eat Peyote/San Pedro like I would eat toast.

That's not the question.

I think it's important to make a distinction between recreational psychoacitve use and clandestine practice. Personally, I've think it's very powerful for a psychonaut to be able to induce altered states of consciousness with and without the help psychoactives. I developed practices for myself. I share them on my site which is still under development. I invite you to visit what I 've made so far. Any constructive input would be helpful.

I practice the following: maintaining awareness, autogenics, journaling/sketching, image streaming, and meditation.

Yes, I love knowledge.

i agree.
also, lack of sleep (minimum of 2 days)
(i smoke quite a bit..) but yeah, after not smoking MJ for 2 weeks, i find my dreams get pretty intense too
and being sober!!

the title of the thread was a bit leading. gnosis is knowlege. i should have said "apart from knowlege"

First serious attempt at an answer:

I can list the practices I've done for the purpose of spiritual healing in the last couple of years (in order of frequency):

Qi Gung
Dance
Capoeira
Yoga
Meditation
Breathing exercises
Rebearthing
Bodywork
Shamanic trance journeys
Several diets to detoxify
Blind-spot-therapy ((?) don't know the word, it involved confrontation after confrontation, breaking up inner boundaries and reliving stuck emotions quickly. Really impressive and relieving).

These just once:
Firewalk
Sweatlodge ceremony
Shamanic ceremony with ayahuasca

I think I have found my own practice in Qi Gung, which continues to deepen my understanding of reality. It is very subtle and very unnoticable at first, but once you recognize the power of it, you're sold.

any strange side effects? strobing conciousness/sight, emotional "rushes", waves of chi ?
just asking because qigung can have some VERY strange effects as you know.
the strobing conciousness is possibly the worse. martial artists have used qigung for to develop increadible power. it can get to the point where they are breaking bones with "little" slaps. but there is an associated psychosis that develops slowly and requires a year or two in china living with a master to stabilise their chi, if they ever can.
this is the style of kung fu i practice. i also practice dowyin quigung.
they balance each other.

i chose this clip because with the right eyes you can see the power manifesting from his dantien (tan tien).

my point is if you do qigung wrong it will shorten your life. i asume you run everything by your Sifu.

every one should practice qigung. it seems to plug you in to the universe. hard to explain but your awareness spreads out beyond your body and you can see with your skin. or something.
again the limits of my vocabulary. damn!

my Sifu can do a zero inch punch that fires you back 10meters and off the ground 1.5

What I think is very useful is looking at things more closely. Everything, anything. Just look at it more closely, discover its capacities, discover its look and feel.
For me it's very important to discover new aspects of light and lighting every day. Look at the shadows, look at the quality of light (hard/soft/warm/cold). You can discover millions of new qualities every day with natural light - and ideas how you can emulate these with artificial lighting.

I only practiced for two years now and am just beginning to grasp the depth of it. But I did experience some effects like flashes of light emanating from objects, feeling the electrical wiring of your own body, being able to 'see through' (not literally) others, i.e. seeing stuck emotions, illnesses, etc., being able to control your own body and mind (feel through pain, clear out the mind in an instant), etc. etc. etc.

My sifu is focusing on the healing properties of qi gung in the first couple of years, and you are only shown the martial art aspect of it in moderation. In the end it is probably the same, though.

Holy SHit that video is impressing

i'll believe when it happens to me.
i've been in martial arts for a while and NEVER seen anything like that. tho i beleive in the strenghth of Qi.

It was supposed to be fun to watch. Don't take life too seriously

But I did see the other video, which was pretty impressive.

quantum physics. reality is stranger than fiction.

thats why i put "a sense of humour" as my greatest tool. it will get you through anything. its big medicine.

im a LONG way from that level of chi awareness but what i have learned keeps me healthy and happy

good stuff!

this looks more serious to me tho

Possibly, but why demonstrate on your student and not the film crue? I'd take knocks for science.

Man, I have to get into qigong!
