Paying for Sex

Personally, I'm all into mutuality and making sure everyone's getting everything they want. But some people will, on occasion, find that to become tedious or implausible... maybe they don't have the skill to please their partner, or maybe they usually do but occasionally they want to be really indulgent and not have to bother. When you pay someone, it becomes all about the person who paid.

all of which is precisely what would take it out of spiritual context imo. not speculating on the morality of course- i don't have an opinion either way in that sense.

and really, that is not to say that the experience still couldn't be spiritual, but i think the odds at play here make the instance of a "spiritual experience" with this method, an exception, at best.

I agree. I certainly don't think sex for money is primarily spiritual in nature in more than a tiny minority of cases... I'm just maintaining that it can be. I know a woman who's considering entering into business as a pro-domme for whom the primary service she'd be offering is a spiritual one... she's one of those rare women who finds it very easy to channel Goddess energy, and one with a sensitive eye can spot it in her even at a distance. Mind you, she won't be "having sex" with her clients (unless your definition of sex is extremely open-ended), but she'll certainly be a sex worker offering a spiritual service. And as such, she'll be a very rare exception among sex workers.
