You cannot see spores. My mold disappeared too, but I still threw them away. I would not take any chances. Nature has it's own special way around things like contamination. Also just because something looks good from the outside, does not mean it is ok. As I said a few posts back, the myclieum transports nutrients throughout the cakes and into your mushrooms, so you may not be able to see the deadly toxins being given off by the mold. Please be careful and use your brain!

PEACE & LOVE

You are right! I thought there was no difference between the risk of getting a contamination in nature or when growing them indoors. And because of people picking them in nature, i thought it would be ok to think: "If they look allright they will be allright" ;)

But it's clear now! Thanks guys!

When you open contaminated containers you spread contamination spores around your grow area = contaminate it with millions of spores = drasticaly reduce your chances of growing uncontaminated cultures there in the future . If the culture was contaminated the mushrooms you harvested have contamination spores on them , so have your fingers .

I can not tell you that your mushrooms are OK to eat , i can just say i wouldnt eat them . I always think "Its better to be safe than sorry" . Worrying about throwing a few mushrooms away and therby cutting your risks of future contamination is not a good idea .

In the time we have been talking you could have got rid of the contaminated cultures and mushrooms , cleaned your grow area and started a new culture .

I allready threw the container away. That was like 3 weeks ago. The point is, at the time of the three flushes i thought everything was going allright. So i picked them, dried them and had put them in ziplock bags. When the third flush was drying i noticed they didn't turn blueish at all. Just completely white. It was then when i made the possible link between the green spot and the white mushrooms. I also realized that i soaked the mushrooms for 12 hours (before the first flush and between the flushes) without putting them back in the refrigerator. Is this really bad? Maybe the risk of contamination became a lot bigger because of this?

It was the first time i grew them, so it's something new for me. I hope i didnt fuck up the growing area now :) How can i clean it? if i can.. (i will throw all the mushrooms away now).

Thanks for all the tips and answers!

Just stick rigerosely to the method you have and concentrate on sterility . Dont worry , just try again and see what happens . I`ve seen some people get contamination one time and never again . i also know someone that got contamination and now gets it in the majority of jars .

can u use the spores off the "contaminated" shrooms?
or will this bring forth contaminated shrooms?

I cant say , but the chances of contamination are much more . Fresh , clean spores are a better bet .

Thanks guys, i got rid of my growkit. GOD: I ment the new myco mate fast fungi growkit but i cant find more info than the info on all of the sites who sell these kits but it sounds like a good way to grow shrooms to me. vrede mrvn
