Intense effect from meditating on cannabis

Atropine is by far the nastiest chemical of the 3.

Scopolamine is primairly responsible for hallucinations and dreamlike states. Atropine is a very strong heart pulse increaser. In fact these two alkaloids cross each other and that's why people on OD's of datura fall asleep and wake up with intense energy and bizarre hallucinations, then they fall out of consciousness and then they wake up again in yet a totally different setting with no memory of the previous setting and the actual setting. Going on for days.

Scopolamine alone is much 'safer' for the body since it needs less water because atropine sucks the most out of it. Scopolamine does produce vein enlargement though. A feeling as your stomach/tongue and much other parts are a swollen balloon while your brains seems to get tight. Especially the legs are getting a weightless feeling.

I don't know, I'm sticking with the good weed of life unless if I can do the evil weed under some supervision and medical back-up.

Probably the best option.
I tried Datura two times, and dimenhydrinate two times too in less than 2 years, every time I ask myself "why the fuck did I take that ?" think I won't do it again then I retry because I think that delirogens have a power that, if used properly, could be very useful, maybe if taken in lower doses like 50 or 100mg with cannabis.

Anyway, I'll stay on weed for a while now.

I got very high with some very good bud last night. I was lying outstretched on my bed, then i got this feeling I was being turned to stone(then it hit me "ohhhh, thats why its called getting stoned!"). I felt I had now turned into a statue, but the actual physical feeling was quite amazing. It was as if my whole body was being compressed into its core, and it was getting kinda hard to move. I felt like I was existing within only a few molecules, with the rest of my body just layers of energy.

My heart started racing and I didn't know how to calm it down. I tried to think but my mind needed a rest so I decided to sleep. Maybe I shouldn't have done it so late.

i can either meditate reeally deaply, or not at all on cannabis. meditation is better when you are straight. my Sifu would say: "come in if your are hung over, or even when you are still drunk, but there is no point when you have had a smoke". cannabis is an unpredictable ethenogen

at least the Atropa familly are predictable

My heart started racing and I didn't know how to calm it down.

I know exactly what you mean...I do not know either how to calm it down...the only thing that can make a MJ trip unpleasant.

restin a dit:

if you take looong deeeeep breaths your heart will calm. if you notice while your heart is racing you are barely breathing, i bet. there is a correlation between breath and heart rate, with feedback.
looooong deeeeep breaths, in and out

I recently had an extremely intense experience as well. I had been smoking some extremely low potent cannabis for two weeks, than I got in some much better cannabis. I smoked 4 bowls in a row of the new bud, and began gazing deeply into the "Mind-Warp" optical illusion. After about 10 minutes I quit, and got up to get some water. My entire environment was distorted visually, and I was experiencing very unusual vestibular motion. I went out to my fire pit and sat down on a log to try to relax a little. I began meditating and 20 minutes into it I began feeling overwhelmingly connected with my entire environment. I sat there in awe like this for about an hour. Truly amazing.

sounds absolutely great. Recently, I stopped before I was completely on the other side as I didn't want to get too high. I also cannot resp. dislike getting high during daytimes, as I then often have stress but it is fun if I don't...with my vapy I then have some sort of real life strobo  that means that it is like I was matrix-walking.

I actually do not remember if it just doesn't start again when I breath normally again. And it is not just fast (the heart) but also very strong/powerful and dull. It is kinda strange. But it isn't so disturbing as it was when I started smoking vapy/bong. I actually only feel that when on these two as I cannot make good joints without tobaccy.

its funny, even though i haven't had the extreme reaction described by some in this post (well not since my first few intense cannabis psychonauting experiences) this post reminds me there have been several times while tripping or getting high that my mind kept causing me to focus on my breathing. i wanted to just ignore it but for some reason i was having difficulty getting between that stage of just not thinking about breathing, and it becoming an automatic process

i actually got worried during these trips that my trips would all be ruined because i wouldn't be able to stop thinking about my breathing. of course eventually at some point my mind was able to shift to something else

I did not read all posts ,but i did read the first one and some others...

The respatory thing was probably hyperventilation due to inexperience.Try to meditate when your sober, then integrate it and combine it with some weed. You could also google for hyperventilation and download some really good breating therapists session in audiofiles..this has done it for me.And stop thinking about breathing when you are stoned, your brain will do that for you, just when you are sleeping..but you can 'play' with it and see what you find best, just dont couple the 'thinking about breathing thing' with smoking weed and you'll be fine..

Panic attack, yeah i had them too but allways remember you smoked weed and just hold on to that..watching something funny is they way to switch your mindsetting or take a cold shower, read something etc just distract yourself with other things and again don't couple the panic and smoking weed cause then you will be a little in panic every time you lite up a joint..

i'm not actually saying you suffer from hyperventilation, but it's one of the side-effects simular to hyperventilation...getting your breating under control is achieved in the same manner.

I am pretty sure that my fast heart beat is NOT connected to hyperventilating. I am quite sure that my breath is OK.I will try tonight tho'. I also have no panic attacks, I actually had them when I was inexperienced but now I am mostly chilled expect when in stress but toking when in stress is all in all a stupid thing to do. E.g. "I must be down again in one hour as I then have my exam" :D

its the other way around, smoking weed increases your hart rate, you need more oxygen, you start to think about breathing....then you get the same effect as a person hyperventilating...its somewhat simular.

I just use the same breating techniques as they do to get my breathing under control, when i have to because usually i dont have that problem.

You can smoke weed in any mindset and go as far as using it as a tool to relax, the way it was intended to

just give it a try,i didnt believe it at first, but it works in minutes and i was like whoaa!

I will make a study upon this :P

just give it a try,i didnt believe it at first, but it works in minutes and i was like whoaa!

Do you mean studying and toking? Depends. With the vaporizer I am very *AFK* in the mind. Dunno, I could give it a try.

Yeah, I didn't mean that you can't use it to relax when in stress. I meant when you are in stress to get down because you have to e.g. do something. I wanted to say that you shouldn't plan anything very important after the trip so you would worry during it.

As promised, I made some experiments with blood pressure and the pulse. Here the results:

2 mins before vaporizing:

SYS 138
DIA 74
Pulse: 91

5 mins after vaporizing (medium-low high):

SYS 118
DIA 46
Pulse 91

8 mins after vaporizing:

SYS 110
DIA 61
Pulse 94

Conclusion:

minor medical change in pressure and pulse. I conclude that the so-called heart racing can be explained with a) bad breathing/hyperventilating or b) the alternation of perception and therefore a higher awareness of the body.

Peace :D

I'm really not surprised by the results... but thanks for doing an objective test in the interest of safety and science :)

One of the last times I had a feeling of my heart racing on weed, I felt my pulse and realized it was actually far, far slower than the racing sensation I was feeling in my body. And I realized I was basically just tripping, and I haven't had a physical panic reaction since. now when i smoke a bit more than i intended, i usually just get the giggles and enjoy the journey.

I think that most people either forget or don't know that cannabis traditionally was used as a pysched (in the 19th C people took doses of thc like an order of magnitude higher than people do on average do now). When they talk about "overdosing" they are simply pushing into a higher plateau than they are accustomed to.

Cannabis does raise the heart rate for most people. You might want to decrease the dosage.

I have had good results augmenting meditation with very low oral dosages of Salvia -- just a few leaves in the mouth. I normally use two or three leaves for meditation; however I am very sensitive to SD. And frequently, I do not use the Sally during meditation. I would not want to become overly dependent on such 'helpers'.

the feeling described here in this thread is very similar to the one we have in dreams where you suddenly wake up with a racing heart. you know something is going to kill you, or you're falling, or whatever, there's always, at the end, like and escalating fear that becomes so intense you have to open your eyes. as someone adequately wrote a pages back, like entering a place you're not wanted. i got it too when attempting to lucid dream. since falling sleep was the worst that could happen in that situation, i learned from it to let go and it helped when it happens with cannabis.

even more, when i was little i used to get some nights something i called "the sensation" which was basically the same. i could not sleep because of it.

hey Psychoid, so you tried again, what happened??

The way one breathes is important too:
If you're connecting with your breath doing big slow inhalations and exhalations you must be aware that the inflated lungs will put pressure on the heart.

What I do [a thing I learned in Yoga]:

1. Breath deep into your stomach, as far away from your ribs as possible, slowly.

2. Now, at a much faster rate fill your lungs in the rib section and into your shoulders.

3. Exhale letting the air out of your lungs without any control until you feel there's only air left in your stomach zone. Don't contract your muscles. When the air reaches this level control the exhalation to make as long as possible.

You can make your exhalations very long in comparison to you inhalations. After a while into it you can even inhale in a count-to-three and exhale in a count-to-twelve reducing the amount of physical pressure to the heart.

I've relaxed myself quite a bit doing this. You can even try to reduce, almost eliminate completely, the amount of air you let into your rib and shoulder sections of your lungs.

Because of my asthma I've practice this a lot beacuse my upper lungs is what constricts itself most during an asthma crisis. My lower pulmonary region has gotten big. When I inhale into my stomach it looks as if I'm pregnant or something
