I've just had an accident:
I was sterilizing some PF cakes and meanwhile is was watching a movie with a friend.

So it boiled dry, the whole kitchen filled with toxic smelling fumes... The alum foil around the jars looked like parchment. So i guess toxic fumes indeed.
Opened some windows, saved the substrate anyways (except the part that had molten plastic in it (yeah plastic jars ).

Hmmm, don't think that was me.
I have had a contamination once, but the shrooms didn't grow anymore and you should always throw away contams.
It's not worth any risk.

I can recall someone asking if you could wash them or something, but I think this is not a good idea.

Fuck terariums , you need a waterproof container with a flat top so you can put a piece of plastic over it . But THROW THE CONTAMINATED SHIT AWAY . Contamination spreads very easily and once you have it ithere is a good chance of it contaminating your room . Spores are not easy to get rid of and can hang arounf in a sort of dormancy for nearly forever .

Done all that. I don't feel bad. Getting fresh air was the first thing i did when i got into the kitchen. I am aware about zinc poisoning.

It was a joke , foil does have a coating that evaporates at high temperatures but i havent got a clue if you are CONTAMINATED or in what quantities it could be in or on you , your kitchen , your saucepan or your whole house . bacteria = possibly dangerous

The only danger is that you will infect other cakes...
Mold is dangerous if you eat it because it produces toxins.

Smelling it only gets some spores in your nose, where they will DIE.
