The Matrix, it is quite a rational film, I'd say. The world in where the possibilities are, is still where you are. All what happened in the movie was a temporarly shut down from the real world, in where the best fitting settings for the Self become clear through sophisticated transparancy.

Regarding being fed up with the Western society. There isn't less room for metaphysical values than in the raw nature. Anyone can live in modesty within a capitalistic model. No one forces you to consume excessively.

Being confronted with wealth and mass consumption doesn't affect an enlighted individual anymore. He'll be in able to participate within such a society, just in modesty when it comes to property. It's primairly for his health and need, rather than acknowledgement and greed. Trying to pass on that message, it is much more realistic. Segregating yourself is losing access to other people's hearts.

After all, it's you who's bending. Why running away from a society in where you can perfectly live with only clothes, food, a house and your mind? Not many are going to run after you if you dash into the desert. The system which you puke on will still continue to exist. But if it's a pain to look at, bend yourself, get yourself the right settings, rather than to search for another environment.

I keep saying be careful sean. I say that only because it can be bad. You're head is a little different than most, so if that is better or worse for this kind of expedition is up to your future to determine.

If you go south however, it will be happy I am extremely envious of you still. I would love to do that too, my trip would last a year, more if I ended up in brazil. But a route along south of u.s. would be short, and would learn much.

MY fast Has ENDED! this morning on day three.... i was told by my grandparents that if you get sick because of this fast you are getting sent back the next day!(they are old, Hate being sick) so after a bit of weighing my options i found it More nessesary stay health and plan, then go back to florida..... As soon as i get off the plane in florida i have to make my decisions... the sooner is Not better... so i have 2 weeks to decide the path i wish to follow? do i go home and get a job? do i leave to go to cali with my Hippy Friends? do i go to the amazon looking for Ayahuasca? go i go to mexico and look for peyote?

I don't know alot of your backround but there's a good finnish backpacking show called madventures, if you can find your subtitles you should watch it, especially the jamaica episode, it shows some true rastas who live literally off and in the forest.

i guess you should get that book the other guy recommended, because there's alot more to wild entheogens then just pickin them off the ground.
And i believe that most shamanic tribes are pretty laid back when it comes to visitors, they are your brothers after all I bet the south americas is THE place to find entheogens.
