who's in for a dream section? if there's enough people we can contact Major Tom to open it for us...

i know there are enough of us interested in dream related topics, but would a section actually devoted to it thrive? it could be called The Dreaming.

The Dreaming
Share your experiences in the dreamworld; hypnagogia, circadian rhythms, lucid adventures, dream tripping and more!

:o

people could post the weird experiences they remember from the previous night and receive feedback on symbolism and unconscious ideas behind the dream plots, etc. we can discuss how dreaming is necessary for evolved, complex brained creatures like most mammals and hypothesize about it's purpose. psychonuts out there could perform dream related experiments, to see the effects of deprivation, although i won't encourage anyone. we can poll the hours of sleep a night we seem to need to function correctly and discuss why some people need more/less than others. there are guys that have came up with a system to cheat lord morpheus and instead of going to bed every night they get mini sleeps every fixed amount of hours and increase their daily waking time. i didn't believe it at first but i read the story of this guy that did it (forgot his name but i could search for it) and he not only felt good, he said he even had more energy than normal and got more work done. he finally dropped it and returned to sleeping like the rest after some months because it felt weird with his wife since they had so differing rhythms. and we can talk about using stuff like calea zacatechichi and other herbs that affect dreams. personally, i could talk about dreams for days.

the poll is going to run for a week (let me know if you think it's too little time); if a reasonable number of people vote pro i'll formally ask Fork for The Dreaming to be materialized :)

Wow ! Your pole says i`m 100%.......

It would be a good encouragement for explorations in that field.

Ofcourse, there are websites specifically related to those subjects. But I think
it would be interesting to open one.

not anymore, GOD. so you read all that paragraph and still think it's unnecessary? i thought i could convert the nonbelievers by rhetoric...

The lounge hasnt been closed .

yes, but we put the psychedelic emphasis.

conscious dreaming, at least the attempt to, is one of the most peculiar things I have ever done. It helped me integrate a lot of experiences with psychedelics (especially salvia) and other activities involving pretty lights. I favor, dreaming is tripping.

Dreams encase the extent of the mind, they can reach beyond any psychoactive... they are like the top grade psychadelic, the kind only the rich and famous can obtain, they can take you anywhere.
make a section!!

I think a dream section would be great.

I'd be interested in sharing and discussing some dreams. I haven't traditionally found much value in their psychological explanations, but it's also not something I've explored in depth.

i voted yes, i agree we should have something of the sort to promote some research/insite/and understanding in something we hardly know of, mabye if we put all of our minds together we can get into the bottom of things, or dreams..... :)

I wouldn't mind it. I don't think I'd visit it a lot, but it might be fun.

So, you want a section where every dream can be discussed in a separate thread? If so, I think each topic that is opened there should start with "dream:...", or something like that, to avoid confusion on the front page.

I like the general idea of your experiments, except related to sleep deprivation, which was a one way ticket to insanity for two friends of mine. It shouldn't even be mentioned in the forum description.

dreams are nothing but DMT mixed with serotonin and cortisol that affect your brain when you are sleeping...

Just curious, but does dreaming in you opinion have no important's? I understand why you voted no, but the way you formulated your reply seems a bit strange to me. What you said about dreams, doesn't that same story go's op for all psychedelics?

I mean, mushrooms is nothing but psilocybin mixed with serotonin... And then i do think you can say this about every psychedelic substance.

Don't understand me wrong, i don't really care if there would be a dream section or not ;) God now have at least 17% support :ninja:

i think i voted yes. or did i dream it?

unfortunatey for such a thread i rarely remember my dreams now but i was once interested enough to keep a dream diary by my bed where i would jot down my nocturnal wanderings.

i found it helped work out what my dreams were about. mostly they were loosley related to what was happening in my life but occasionaly there was a "prophetic" one.

when i was practicing lucid dreaming i did find i was putting too much importaince on what occured in the dream state.

it was a while before i realised every person in my dream was me. before that i would get annoyed at people for what they said and did in my dreams

I did recognised almost every single word :)

exactly
because all our thought process, in a word consciousness, are merely energy moving through chemical molecules that cause the neurons to fire at different intensities. This create an electromagnetic field that emits waves at different intensities, that apparently allows our egos to experience reality and be conscious of things happening around us and within ourselves. because our senses are connected through translation mechanisms of the things happening in our environment: eyes (the retina is a barrier of cells behind which the light-stimulus is put in neuronal messages sent to the brain), ears (that have neural translators of sound that are behind a complex sound collector), Taste buds (that react in categories, there're some reacting to sour, others reacting to sweet all send their own version of the taste to the brain that has to recodify it to a gamma of tastes), smell might be the only one of the senses that directly "talks" to the brain, as it's shown on various studies, smell can trigger the most powerful emotions and feelings, more than music to the ear or food to the tongue or touch on the skin; this is why i believe that we experience reality in a virtual way and not directly, everything we experience is filtered through our body and it arrives at the brain through a chemical formula in a certain concentration codified by the impulse first. thus when we are providing DMT to ourseves we are consciously submitting to a dreamstate (and the same is valid for any substance we take, we accept to submit our bodies to a thought)
Here comes the reason why i don't think we need to create a "dream" section, it's because when we dream we are actually experiencing DMT we might as well use the DMT discussions to talk about dreams and say: " on my last manmade DMT trip..."
