I've been given an assignment to write anything about a plant or plant product of my choice which has implications to human activity.

What I'd like to know is, what would you write about and why?

I'm planning on writing about Ibogaine, because of its potential, and its restricted nature. I've still got a few days before I need to choose so any good suggestions might even end up being written about instead.

i'd probably write about salvia divinorum
i've got the most first-hand experience w it, and not much has been written about it so i'd feel as if i was actually contributing

I'd write about mary jane, because she keeps puzzling me in how many ways she affects my mind :)
Although the implications to human activity would be in many ways guesswork. I imagine with the experimental therapies that are done with Ibogaine (that I've heard of) are a very nice and broad subject to write about.

I think Ibogaine is perfect . It hasnt got the stigma other drugs have .

MJ :weedman:
because it got many implications

Definitely cannabis.

plant's aren't psychonautic, people are.
it is very rare, but you can find some of them if you look under the sharp rocks (of cocaine)!

Probably Cacti. Just to prevent that this glorious substance gets a further push to the background. With the main purpose to get people in the Western world prepared for such a fragile and ultra tender experience. Enclosing the careful and strict preparations which are required to fly.

A sufficient amount of a mescaline containing cactus makes the ego and my nature so soft that it cannot be fully explained unless if one undergoes it him of herself.

The compassion factor and inner empathy of mescaline goes far beyond psilo and LSD. More like MDMA but in a very natural and fresh way. It's entirely real.

i don't understand

Lion, psychonauting is a concept greater than that of psychedelic/drug usage. that was my point, and that's why i say it is rare!

lettuce, one of the few plants revered by ancient Egyptians and Greeks

i'd write about something that alot people haven't heard about, i dunno, mescaline, dmt, ayahuasca, ibogaine, whatever the hell that flavor altering berry was called, etc. go to erowid for a good bit of information, pics, and links esp.

I think if you write about cannabis people will just turn off . Ibogaine hasnt got a bad reputation amongst normalos like cannabis has . They would be much more open and your research/writings would seem more original and aceptable if you did ibogaine .

ok i got that first part, my bad.
i meant the part about "but you can find some of them if you look under the sharp rocks (of cocaine)!".
under the sharp rocks (of cocaine)?

Lion, my point was:

- plants are not psychonauts
- people are the only ones that can be psychonauts
- many people claim to be psychonauts
- few of them are, they are just interested in drugs
- look under the sharp rocks of cocaine (people claiming to be psychonauts, but only interested in drugs), and maybe you can find one or two true psychonauts, like you were digging on the countryside, let's say, looking for worms to go fishing :) (you can also look at it as people that don't normally show themselves as psychonauts, can be one)

perhaps i haven't explained myself right ?

It is a very good explanation and i agree with what you say .

- many people claim to be psychonauts
- few of them are, they are just interested in drugs
"Psychonaut is a modern term used to describe one who uses trance technologies and, more specifically mind-altering substances, more for their ability to act as entheogens than for their inebriating (or social) effect. In effect, they are used as a means to achieve states of mind in which different perceptions, unhindered by everyday mental filters and processes, can arise."
