Isn't this a interpretation issue? I mean, i have known enough people who didn't care, but on the other hand i also known people that didn't liked it at all. I think one should always be careful about what he says, how he says it and to who he says it. Especially with words like nigga or other words that could be easily misinterpreted.

Yeah it's a little up to interpretation... but not really ; it's like dishonoring alot of dead people to bring back those words, it's my opinion.

We have a history to draw lessons from, lets not take peculiar terms lightly, I say.

This word is very ambiguous (it can be both derogatory and refer to a friend) and on an internet forum the intention behind it is invisible to most readers. Therefore I think it is better not to use it.

I doubt any serious racist would take the trouble to join this forum, which is why I don't believe misfit ever seriously intended the phrase in a racist way. The phrase he used was a play on "Run Forrest run!" (see a trailer of the movie here). One day Forrest simply made up his mind to start running, despite of his former 'handicap'. The movie shows what may happen to a country if a single person makes up his mind about something and sticks to it. Hence: run Obama run!!

When I was four or five I learned my first English words, and I vividly remember I liked the English pronunciation of the letter G much more than the Dutch, and for days I was repeating that funny letter "guh guh guh" and words like go, get and good. And so I really like the sound of a word like nigga, the same way I like the sound of words like Ganga, guru, goddess and the original name of my first child, Goravani. Nigga doesn't have any of the sharp vowels or consonants of other insulting words and phrases like asshole, fucker, cunt, prick, or even exclamations like 'Jesus Christ!' etc. My guess is it's the sweet sound of the word that eventually made it an affectionate word among fellow African-Americans. Even racist rednecks will usually add a sharp sounding adjective to make it sound more harsh: "filthy nigger", "nigger scum" etc.

LOL, that Forrest Gump 'trailer' I posted above even contains a phrase (at 2:02) that very much resembles one of Obama's one-liners!

Not exactly, Ahua already posted lots of messages in the chemistry section and wrote things about his personal life before he started challenging anyone. Misfit mainly wrote vague posts like "I?" "You?" "Who am I?" etc. That's why I described him as enigmatic.
