they'd see the metalic foil....whats normally found in a foil?

organics like herbs cant be seen in x-ray, theres something called an organic scanner but i have no idea how it works, google or wiki it im sure it'll be there
they use that at some airports i've heard

chocolate bars?

i think you could get away with alot of things sending it inside something else
like send a pot plant of some type and dig underneath it and fill the pot with all kinds of goodies, then cover it up again
i think that'd be fairly safe
if they let you send plants

" would something with a metallic wrapper stop that?"

Many years ago i used to post things internationaly . When i wraped something in tin foil it got stoped and confiscated . It had been xrayed and because of the foil it was suspicious and they opened it .

They were nice enough to send me a letter explaining and asking me if i wanted to come to them , claim ownership and pick it up !!!

Many many many many many drugs get sent through the mail everyday. If you package it right than the dogs can't smell it (vacuum seal several times over put in airtight cooler and package). The #1 reason people get caught doing this is because of bad packaging, the packages break open. (Remember they don't handle packages genrly).

Package it up good, and seal it right (make sure to use latex gloves and change pairs every time, you don't want any residue on the outside of ANYTHING or the dogs will smell).
If you've done all of this right you are in the clear as long as it doesn't get flagged as a suspicious package, and there are things that they look for, such as no return address, etc.
Internationally you have to worry about customs though.

for a while there were a few (and still are some) mail suppliers in canada, some were quite open about it. they usually double-vacuum sealed their supply. i think their packages got busted going into the UK too many times, they only ship internally now and most of them are closed to newcomers. i got various stuff that way if it was something special i couldn't find locally. i don't know how anxious i'd be to do it again though.

rub some peppermint oil on the packages, dogs hate the smell and want nothing to do with it, and just hollow out a peppermint smelling candle or something then if they do open it the dog wont smell it and they wont see the pot inside the hollow candle.

just put some peppermint gum or chapstick in front of your dogs nose and see what happens haha

Thats the best way to get your post searched .
