TOOL - Vicarious (Official Video)

I recommend Tryptonaut to hear the whole 10k Days album, specially the Wings for Marie combo and Rosetta Stoned :)

It's interesting to me :D

I listened to the album in the order the guy said (6-7-5-8-4-9-13-1-12-2-11-3-10) and he's right, some of the song transitions are really impressive and one wonders if the band actually made all this on purpose!

Reading this and hearing the album has made me remeber how MUCH I love it! :)

misery, have you seen the actual CD??? the artwork it's fascinating, in the photos I see on the net one doesn't appreciate it, because of the transparent case. It's like the coolest CD ever :)

You have noticed that most of the album transitions very well already? Ill give it a try but it just seems very weird to have Lost Keys(blame Hoffman) and Rosetta Stoned broken up... same with 10,000 days and Wings. Intention and Right in Two have a sweet transition as well. I do hope you know that 10,000 Days is 11 tracks long, not 12. Ill post again after hearing your odd mixing.

^It's about Lateralus.

from what i have read, the 10,000 days album is not to be re-ordered and golden "ratioed" again as lateralus. that would be too easy. if you glue the wings pt1 with the last song, "vinginti tres", and join both these songs glued together with wings pt2 (you will notice that they have the same duration), you will get another new song, simply by overlapping them. :)
and i've read something about a puzzle in the artwork, but i can't recall.

HA HAHA HA.... HA! I feel like a moron for not even clicking the link =0 I just went off of this being a 10,000 Days thread... Sorry for trying to be the smart person and turning out a fool.

to begin enjoying tool, you have to listen quite a few times, it grows on you

I don't know - I have been listening to Lateralus quite a few times, and for example I really like "Reflection" because of the meditative rhythm. But I can't listen to Tool for too long until it starts getting on my nerves.

And well, all the hidden symbolism and stuff is really interesting and it proves that Tool is way ahead of me in advanced mathematics and numerologistic conjuration... but that's not my understanding of what music is about. I know that every rhythm is also mathematics, I just don't like a piece better because the drumming is ordered in a fibbonacci sequence ;)

:prayer: Tool

I listen to everything that I like - what comes to my mind right now is from Alternative/Indie Rock over Electro/Minimal, Psybient, EBM, Punk, Emocore, Reggae, Dub to classical (well, not much classical, but sometimes I like to listen to Bach or Bruckner, sometimes I also like piano pieces by Debussy pretty much).

Dont get me wrong Tool is definitely worth listening, I didn't say I hate it or something. I only meant I feel a little disappointed that for me it sounds like they make exactly the same stuff since Lateralus. Maybe they changed their sequencing from fibonacci based to pi based and I just didn't notice.
I better be quiet now or I'll be stoned, I guess ;) (nah, you won't do that, I know, just kidding)

An amazing thing about Tool is that, they dont fit in on any kind of music, or type of music. Like many bands you can say they are Metal, or Punk, Punk Hardcore, Death Metal, and so on...

Tool is Tool. They are a kind of "concrescence" in the music world.

As I read somewhere here, you have to learn to like Tool. It Grows on you.

So true.

I saw TOOL front row in Houston last year. Such an amazing concert. Must say, it was truly an experience. Love this video too. I have a drumstick that Danny Carey threw out from the stage. :D

I hope one day before I die I get to assist to a TOOL concert..... I don't have the means now :(

hey welcome to the board man!
