Forkbender a dit:^both, in my case. :|
I would say though that no one has been talking about the entire community as an entity if you will. What I posted (and to some extent what jeniger posted) I feel is kind of a taboo in that (for example) if you voice the opinion (or something derived from that opinion) i described in a discussion about psychedelic experiences you are very likely to be accused of ridiculing the other side where you might be showing the other side a mirror that shows them how many scientists would view their ideas so they are forced in a way to rethink how they might disambiguate (if that's even a word) their sometimes vague concepts.VapourTrail a dit:You cannot say ANYTHING about ALL of ANY community.
Not a modern one.
That doesn't mean there aren't trends.
This is perfect example of what i was trying to say, i only explanied my own experience with good intentions. The superiority is a projection of your own reality,in my reality i was trying to be helpfull. And reading up one of the original discussion(afther a google search here and here) i think no one there had intentions to hide the truth, this can also be a projection from yourself. U should leave the context intact imoSome things are just trips and it is no good wearing a cloak of superiority and pretending it was your time and it isn't anyone else's. Some things are unique to you and the only way other people will experience them is by adequate description from you
Is this enough demonstration? :mrgreen:In everything u read.... u will read your own reality

adrianhaffner a dit:i just now finished reading this thread entirely. including the linked "google searched" topics on entheogen.com...
i think i now know why you are frustrated by not receiving answers. its because there were 117 of them about one statement!! nobody is going to be that willing to answer that many questions at once. some of them are loaded questions too..
you wont get solid answers to your questions from them,so long as they keep posting in the same manner. the manner that caused you to question in the first place is a presentation of information. they're assuming you already know about what they are saying.. so, naturally, holes are left open...
i'd like to try to explain what info they have layed out for you.
"when an animal brain learns to harmonise with, and express the DNA level"
this means to me: learning to express yourself on the most basic level of living expression, which is basically transfer of information, and aiding transfer of information, to be very general. making it as easy as possible. after all, thats what dna is/does, correct? a very basic, efficient means to transfer information?
a moral stance begins to emerge. "whats good or bad (for making information easy to transfer?)" what will preserve the most life, as to save the most time for everyone, and therefore educate the most people etc etc so that we can try to make things easy, well easier for ourselves, all of us. in other words, whats the "right" decision (for life)?
i can relate this to my sense of "whats best for me?" a feeling that i know everybody with a well oiled brain has. if i ask myself that question and meditate on it when faced with any problem, im probably going to choose the path that most directly, happily, efficiently etc, will get me to my goal, or get other people to their goal, so long as it has positive benefit. like fork said, very basic stuff, but it does become very elaborate upon further scrutiny.
ijinx: "It means being able to tune the ego level of awareness to the transpersonal level of basic cellular awareness, and replicate that more universal perspective in a local brain."
to me that means, taking your everyday normal, judgemental consciousness, and basically just come to realize that you are a gargantuan mass of cells, all cooperating together, in harmony for the most part. now redirect that unnecessary mental effort of feeling alone, and worrying about what other people think of you etc, (because YOU, that 1, are not even one being, so how can you be alone??) towards paying attention, or rather, focusing your attention to life as a whole, and not just you yourself, your friends, city, but all of life as a whole, and let your actions be reflected in this thought process at all times.
occam: "what are the cells aware of exactly?"
that's not what he's saying, but it will apply nonetheless. its so so simple. the cells are aware of themselves, as well as the cells around them. i mean thats what we're talking about here, self awareness... they simply have to be. you cannot lift a weight with a few random cells. they "talk" to each other via messenger cells (nerves) and all synchronize at once to create this epic feat of moving things that they cannot even directly percieve, at a millionth of the scale of the objects we see.
so that's what this is all about, paying attention to, and contributing to life in general as one entity, furthering that entity, but recognizing its breakdown into smaller components as well as the more obvious larger ones. you are a "cell" of the world as the world is a cell in the galaxy, as that galaxy is a cell, and so on until you get to universes, and then beyond that im quite sure. sorry for the long wind, but this is really a basic concept. hope it makes sense to you.. size is (extremely)relative.
feel free to question if you have any
