Forkbender a dit:
I know, it is hard to get sarcasm across if you're not face-to-face.

But what animal behavior do you consider stupid for example?

Hard one really.

Lots of animals do stupid things in the name of discovery. Rats chew electric cables for example, it is hard to say that one type of animal is globally stupid. Same with humans I guess.

Always thought worms were quite thick.

I think the range of the consequences separate us - we could wipe out the whole planet - they can kill themselves and not much more.

This summarizes everything.

humans make me sad, our species is so lost and destructive in that loss, i mean every thing we do seems to affect everyother being on the earth, whch gives us the responsibilty not to fuck up.

really? thick as in lack of intellect? cause it doesnt seem like they need it... huh, i cant think of an animal that is stupider (more stupid? lol case in point) than humans, our bond with the connection to the tribe and the earth has been severed, but i think its not irreparably that way, i think wer on the verge of a green revolution-a mass back to nature movement out of necesity for survival, so i have hope for us yet, hopefully well learn something on the way eh? we seem like an animal that evolved itself into a hole that we are now having to dig ourselves out of, undoing this cyborg mentality and relearning awareness, personally i think plants are the most evolved beings on this earth, trees and flowers and grasses and all that, maybe we should talk and ask them for some cosmic direction once in a while, peace and love everybody!

That's my point, give them math and they will fail.

Humans are smart. Smartest being we know about.

So smart that one bad apple can use those smarts to destroy everything - well, if this life was about harvesting Karma - be a worm instead.

Humans are also naturally curious and filled with the desire to explore. We dream, we imagine, we ask questions, we want to know why. We can feel empathy for each other and for other creatures, we can use our knowledge for great good.

The problem is this--life isn't black and white. It isn't as simple as do only good and harm no one. A lot of it depends on one's point of view, and the best way isn't always clear and obvious. The act of feeding the starving might mean destroying a habitat to make a farm and village. The act of saving a species might mean culling another species. The act of creating a vaccine that prevents millions of horrific deaths might involve experimenting on some poor animal. Buy a shirt made in a sweatshop, support an evil profiteering corporation, don't buy the shirt, the worker has no job and can't buy rice for the day. Boycott a despotic regime: the people starve, fight it: the people die, ignore it: the people suffer, starve and die. Every act has a consequence. We can only do our best to make informed choices.

There are terrible deeds committed every day by people with the worst (and sometimes even the best) intentions, and at the same time profoundly good people trying to help each other.
