i had grow many mushrooms before but there were from a ready cake i bought..so..before 3 mounths i decited to make my own mushrooms from the begin...i made some cakes with the things i order...well everything was good except one thing..as i read the normally time for inculation is 2-4 weeks...now i'm in 15 week!! and the inculation doesnt finish yet....i have 5 cakes , all of them are
totally white around the boxes but NOT in the bottom so the inculation didin't finish,am i right??...also the one cake it started get mold from the around without the inculation finish..why did it hapenned??i must throw it now or what? what i did wrong??all 4 cakes will finally gets mold like the one?
thanks people for reading this...any help? :?

First off, flip your cakes upside down so the concentrations of CO2 and O2 redistributed so the mycleium will start to grow again. With the moldy cake; I recommond NOT OPENING it, and throwing the cake and the jar away, and then take that trash out. By doing this you will avoid spreding more of the contaminates that are already in the air.

15 weeks is to long . They have been ready for the last 10 weeks at least . They dont have to be totaly white and fluffy all over .

Would you have to case it in this particular case? I had cakes that were not fuffly white everywhere and took them out and fruited them, only for the non colinized parts to get inflected with some type of grey mold. If you case it, you would be worry free from the contamination problem right? Other than acourse the normal worries of inflection during any casing process.

You wouldnt be worry free but it would probably help . I have no fotos but HeartCore posted loads maybe you can find them and have a look . His cakes were not always totaly white and he had good sucess .

I had a very good yield from my cakes, but there was that tiny amount of grey mold. :(

many thanks guys your answers are very useful...i throw in garbige the jar with infected cake and i flip the others upside down so the inculation can continue...so now i must stop worry about the others get mold right?!!

GOD is a more knowledgable and experienced mushroom grower than I. He thinks that 15 weeks is way to long, and I agree after him pointing it out. Maybe you should just case them. I'm sure GOD knows what you can do, but I'm not sure if they should sit any longer. The moisture is going to be used all up soon, and the cake will not be able to produce good amounts of mushrooms.

PEACE & LOVE
