Along with the first Matrix movie, a film that has taught me the most about the path of life.

Both these movie are representing the both outer sides of life and everything in between.

I'd have to say that after watching these 2 films, and picking up the profound understanding of both (both hold a very deep message, but the Matrix is obviously more complex to figure out) I got more enlighted than I could ever predict. Brian de Palma did some masterwork.

I wanna know from the people who has seen this movie, how they interpretate it, their opinion and how it affected their view on life and other people.

Your path of life or life in general? To me, the movie is about climbing up the ladder with greed as the main motivator, what eventually killed him. I can’t find a very deep message in the movie, but what is your interpretation?

It hasn’t affected my life at all, but that doesn’t say it is a bad movie. I’ve actually enjoyed watching it! On the other hand, I see how it affects many ‘wannabe gangsters’ in my neighborhood, as Tony Montana is their personal hero. But if Tony wasn’t there, I’m sure these fuckers would idolize someone else.

LOL, a longtime ago when i still did go to school. There was a small group of people who didn't like me, they all must have seen Tony Montana. They acted as if they where the mafia. One guy gave even orders to kick my ass. Lucky enough i always where a fast guy, so they never even came close to me ;)

I forgot to answer your question :) When i saw the movie for the first time(I believe 7 years ago), i just where reading a book from David Icke which explained an theory what was based on the matrix at the same time. I liked the theory to some extent. I didn't believe the conspiracy part, but i have to say that if you look to that movie and have some experience with psychedelics, which i also did for the first time short before i read the book and saw the movie. It have changed my thoughts about life radically. Nowadays i have build my own theory's based on the theory's of the matrix. I am not good in explaining my own theory's, but maybe if i find the time and the rest which i need for that, that i will reply again. But the movie finally had influence on me to some extend ;)

Life in general. It perfectly shows how the human mind adapts communism first, and how it compensates with inbalance when entering a society with a free market in where achievements are making you as an individual, or not.

Likewise it could be vice versa, experienced detention within a capitalistic system and craving for a replacement of fervent socialism.

It is no different with an entire population, who believes the current political system is wrecked and battles for 'drastic' changes with fanatical brightfulness, instead of making the needed adjustments step by step in order to maintain balance and overview.

It also shows how vulnerable the human mind is for going after the glittering that's seen directly by the eye. It is inevitable that many individuals life their live through such a mentality without ever noticing any alternative to gain the self-value they're looking for. Even when guided into that path.

I understand your point of view. This could have been one of the filmmaker's motivations to start making the movie. If he wanted to make it his main issue, he should have deepen it more out throughout the movie, so more people would have got the message you got out of it. Another criticism of my side; the shallow characters. But this also makes the film more accesible to a widely audience. I wonder how the filmmaker feels about the movie’s cult status nowadays? Misunderstood?

I agree. In fact the movie is a pure tragedy!

Don't get me wrong, but I don't understand that an intelligent person like you, needed this movie to get this certain kind of insight.

the receptive mind finds insights everywhere it focuses

Haha 'tis true. I learned that I shouldn't try to dig up too much earth behind things to maintain serenity in my brain.
