Wich shop sells skin-only part of the cactus?
As I know, the most mescalinefull part of the cacti is the green pulp under the skin, but -and I can be mistaken- the skin doesn't contain mesc.

shops don't sell the outer skin but the under lying green pulp, the outer skin is a flimsy transparent layer.

why trow away the stem? it does contain a small bit of the goodies only by far not as much as the greens, when one would do an extraction wouldn't it be a shame to trow away the stem?
 
The skin = the bit from the outside into the pulp where the green stops and it starts to be white . Yes when extracting one can extract the whole thing but eating the whole thing dryed is a waste of time as the rest only contains very small amounts . Those small amounts plus the bulk of the rest make it not worth eating . That means the more bulk with less content = that you need much more , it comes on slower , you have to eat more shit tasteing crud , and probably your going to get more stomach problems / pukeing .

a good way to dry out cacti is to cut the cactus 6 ways (long). if you have a sharp knife, cut out the white, and if possible, take off the waxy-skin like outer layer. when pealing it, it should come off clear. then take your dark green layer, and cut it extremely thin. once cut, lay the thin peices of green tissue on a glass baking pan. put the pan in a warm/dark place (i used a heating vent) and let it dry. the thicker the peices are the longer it will take to dry. (do not use the sun for heat... i find it makes the cacti less potent)
 
umm.. honestly i havent tried using an oven.. but im guessing if you turn the oven on veryyyy low heat, making sure the cacti doesnt burn it could work
 
The heating or somewhere else warm would be cheeper and safer though .
 
Oven doesn't work worth a shit, I cooked on low heat for many hours with horrid results.
 
an oven with the lowest setting, and the door to the oven open can be very effective.

try toasting a piece of toast with the door open on a toaster oven. it'll be so dry and hard you wont even want to eat it
