I've freeze my san padro slices, but I had to get them out from the freezer (needing space for the food).
After one day out of freezer little brown spots began appearing on some slices.
Now I've freeze them again, but what do you think about it?

should I be quick to consume them? Have I done a mistake and... don't know, you tell me :D

thanks

AriNoob

I think its a reaction of the damaged cells, do the spots look a bit slimy?

actually all the slices look a bit slimy...before they were strong and hard, now they're fluffy

Samething happened to me mate. I'd recommend drying it out asap with some dessicant mine molded over very quickly after being out of the freezer and had to toss out quite a lot of cactus.

ops, I've put it in the freezer again.
If I just take it out and prepare a mescaline brew, maybe it will last longer?

if its frozen not much will happen and I would leave it there until you are going to make a brew

freezing and thawing, and repeating is actually part of a recipe for cacti brew. its breaks down the cell structure making it easier to extract the chemicals. you should still get a very good trip out of the cacti, as long as you dont wait too long

I'd do a simple extraction using acetone or ISO.
I won't give any more details as I'm not sure what the rules are here regarding this kind of thing.

its allowed but its more a chemistry section thing i suppose

Ah, well I'm part way through my first cactus extraction at the moment.
If it's succesful (and I don't see why it wouldn't be), I'll put together a little thread basically outlining how I did it.
It's really cheap and doesn't take too much effort or chemistry knowledge.
Good for noobs, I suppose. :)

I was now thinking about this preparation, just check how it looks like to you.

I blend pieces of cactus and water with some lemon juice, then put it to simmer for 2-3 hours, untile I have not too much water.
Then I fiter it in some kind of container, make another wash with the pulp, add the water it comes off to the first one.

Then, I just let the water evaporate for some days (I should take it in more than a week, so I've got time). When it reaches a little amount of liquid, I freeze it and store it 'til I'll need.

How this looks like to you? :D

don't let it evaporate outside your fridge, you don't want to lose your concoction to fungus

I think you'd get a much better end result if you tried a simple extraction using something like Isoprophyl or acetone instead of water.
Then you'd just be left with a few grams of powder to get down instead.

it'll contaminate, you say eh. So ok, I just put to simmer (there's too much brew now, I can't drink 1 lt.

I'm dring some other tricho, i'll do extraction with them :D thinking about cooking alcool for to

I was told that acetone is pretty much the best thing you can use for cactus.
It's readily available on eBay. :)

If you need any info on the extraction, give me a shout.

thanks, I'll do it for sure :D

have someone got a good way to dry pachanoi?

No probem man.

Nah, I always just buy pre-dried cactus.

Mescaline's as stable as a rock though so using heat to dry it shouldn't create any problems. :)
Just don't put it in the oven at a high temperature or anything, haha

Cut the skin off and dry that . Throw the rest away . The goodys are in the skin .

As I know skin doesn't contain mesc... :?

Then why do shops sell it and people buy it ?
