peyote update!

hey guys, just thought id let ya know how my 3month peyote are doing, i brought them all the way from southern ontario to south west alberta, and was worried that they may have died due to shaking and un-rooting themselves. it took about a month, but they are almost all green and lookin great. i now have 23 peyote that i can actually see growing. (they are almost 2X as big as the previous month!)

hey, just an update. i am currently germinating about 150 peruvian torch M. and have a couple i put in with the peyotes for shade when they get bigger. ill post some pics soon.

I have seeds, but am still reluctant to give another attempt at germinating them for fear of merely sacrificing them to the mould gods.

have you tried using no-damp solution? iv used it twice on the batch i have atm, each time the mold completely goes away. pretty much just got a long tray, about 1 1/2-2inches high, drill a couple holes in the bottom for drainage, get 5parts course sand, 3parts perlite, and 1 part peatmoss. put seeds in, seran wrap on top, let it sit under a 40-60W light for heat. worked pretty well for myself, but maybe i just got lucky

Glad your cacti are doing well. I am worried about mine! I have left for a 3 week vacation, and have my neighbor taking care of them. I hope they are ok. I will be coming to Calgary soon Ultima. I'll be there in about 3-4 days. We need to hang out. PM me and we will talk.

ULTIMATUM. Caapi isn't cacti! It is vine, like wood. Thick vine from 3cm to 50cm thick! Caapi is main ingredient of Ayahuasca. One of two really truly hallucinogens. Other is Peyo. Other companion of Ayahuasca is Psychotria or Mimosa or Virola or Acacia. All of them contain DMT. Caapi contains beta-carbolines like harmin, harmaline, telepathine.

Cacti contains mescaline which acts on norephinephrine. Mix of MAOi and norephi is deadly in some cases. But only if U use MAOi and adrenaline! Other isn't analogues for alkaloids from cacti. But shops place warning to protect them from lawsuit cause one from 100000 have bad reaction like MAOi and adrenaline.

hrmmm with the peyote im growing it seems that the soil isnt liking the new enviroment they have. it seems that my little cacti are starting to get a little bit of mold. so iv only been watering them maybe once a week, if that. to try to dry out the soil, to kill the mold. it does work sumwhat, but whenever i water agian, the mold comes back. my no-damp solution doesnt seem to be working anymore, but the cacti dont seem to be affected by the mold yet.

you can water with a very dilute hydrogen peroxide solution if nodamp doesnt work. please pm me with the nodamp ingredients. i may know an alternative that will work

How old cacti is?
Have U grow it on your own? From seed?
When? Where? Climate?
What U have done after planting seed or replanting?
Have U covered pot with foil?
Do U have somekind of pict, or can U fastly make some and post them?

they were planted 420, so april 20th, so they are about 3 months old. i still have them in their starting pot, which is a 12" by 6" by 2"hi tray, with 5parts sand, 3 parts perlite, and 1 part peatmoss. they germinated crazy fast, but now i have them out neer a window which is shaded alllllll the time. so they look very healthy, but there is a bit of mold growing in the soil. (none of the peyote have been effected by this mold) ill try to post some pics if i can find a dig cam

Do not worry!
Peyos are normally germinated and turned into tiny cacti.
When U plant seeds and cacti starts to rise, he turns into 10 times bigger baby then seed. 10 times more massive. (MASSIVE?? But he is so small? , Einstein relatively theory)
After that Peyos freeze themselves. Maybe little spines grow and body turns into reddish green. Also do not worry! NORMALLY TURNINGS. Peyo needs roots!? This is why he slows down his grow rate. He hasn't stop growing. Only unvisiable part grow. ROOTS.

MOLDS round cacti are harmless. They eat fun stuff from rich soil. Also misted soil! Make little fence from kinder egg. Cut it, and surround cacti with it. Also good sun protection. But if molds turns to become to much annoying, pick them up with spoon and cover that place with mix or sand and very small and fine gravel.

Also, have U ever hear bout grafting? Here U can see how fast Peyo cacti grows fast when is grafted. Meaning time from seed germination to first root cell building. Mass is 10X times bigger! Grafting is also similar.
But forget it! U do not have old Peyo, enough old.

hehe thanks goran! ur then man i was actually wondering about the size of them, because they seemed to pretty much burst out of the seeds, and they are about .5-.7cm wide, and like .7-1cm long. i have them getting natural light which is brighter then my heat lamp, but doesnt actually get direct sunlight whatsoever due to the trees in my yard so that part is good, im just worried that the cooler temps of about 60 degrees may slow their growing process. on warm days it gets up to about 80, and on the cooler ones its about 60. on the cooler days i turn the lamp on.. hoping they warm up a bit. but yeah, i havent noticed them grow pretty much at all in the past 2-3 weeks. i was getting worried about my new habitat for them. but anyway, im going to bed, ill try to catch up tomarrow.

Buy a heating blanket; that is what I use to keep my peyote warm at night and it works great! They are not very expensive either; somewhere around $30-$60.

Try to give him one hour of indirect sun and 15-30mins of direct sun. But beware! If temp is beyond 24+++ hide it in the kinder egg or surround it with big gravel, rocks in fact. If U leave cacti under lamps, blankets, short:hide it out from sun, he will never receive sun resistance! NEVER MY MAN! First time when sun will be high enough and U will forgot on him, sun is going to kill him! U can't hide people in the basement all life! They will going to get blind! So my advice(even for lethal sake of cacti) is to give him some real sun rays. 15 min's at first. See how cacti reacts. If skin grows thicker, greener, "bodily" and cacti turns alive (U will see how it grows, acceptant from sun light will make Peyo "strong") U do not to worry bout sun and heat anymore! Sun and life has accepted Peyo as new soul on this world and dimensional existence. But slowly, carefully give him low sun feed. Also I do not know Fahrenheits. I count temps in Celsius. Only Americans and Brits use this counting technique! Why U need to be different? I never understand such looks on nature! Pounds, Lbs, Feet, Inch, Foot, AM&PM, etc. Metric system with normal physics counting and numbers of every scheme is like European one! Sorry but I do not understand Brits and Americans.
