Everyone has a little xenophobia/prejudice in them.....EVERYONE.
This is hardwired into us as a way of avoiding danger, since
most danger way back came from 'strange dudes'.
Recognizing this, and learning to cope adaptively with it, is one of the gifts of an open mind, usually, but not always, via psychedelics.
I think being honest about these kinds of things can only help everyone, because there's no way to work on any problem without acknowledgement that there is a problem.
From an Americans perspective, I must say that we over here are not too keenly aware of the situation among you Europeans regarding racial tensions, etc...If I revert to the history I was taught, then I can see that a long time ago, you guys fought bitterly for territory borders, and feuds erupted that spanned centuries among neighbors there.
But we have our own problems, here. This country never got over the civil war and slavery. There is a HUGE amount of energy spent by both factions still hating each other since the end of the civil war. I don't think it'll ever be resolved, really.
I don't know how good of an idea it is to identify too strongly with any Westernized country, considering their track record of paying lip service to freedom and prosperity whilst sowing destruction and domination worldwide.
If another american slandered Americans as 'stupid moron idiots' or 'robot savages', I wouldn't take offense, because I do not IDENTIFY with 'Americans' that strongly, even though my birth certificate says I am one, and I have an anglicized name.
I take no sides in this disagreement, however, I gave GOD the benefit of the doubt when I read it, and took it for ribald satire.
Stcki- I am probably the king of thin skin and over-reactions. Don't take evrerything he says so seriously, and I am glad you were big enough to accept the olive branch when it was extended.
You two shaking hands hurts big brother more than just about anything.
