they probably are indeed moldy from over watering, the second picture you posted, how big a part is still green? perhaps you could make a cutting from it to grow in a pot.

Is it psychoactive? could you link me to a ste or ell of a book where you read this?
 
damn trichocereus/Echinopsis nomen culture, keep messing up names, just take trichocereus bridgesii, also called Echinopsis lageniformis only Echinopsis bridgesii is a complete different cactus. its damn frustrating for a amateur like me, do they do it to piss us of?

after some quick googeling the psycho activity of this cactus seems to be questionable to say the least, one source states its about 1/4 of a average pachanoi, its a very chaotic word document:

oh and some sites state it contains no mescalin and others state it does (the ones that say it does contain mescalin al qoute Trout btw)

why don't you order some pachanoi/peruvianus/bridgesii (Trich not Echi of course :wink: ) seeds and star growing :D
