It came to my mind that I have never used any MAO in my life.

I wanna know a few things from people who have done it in combination with psilo:

- Are the known effects of mushrooms slightely altered or experienced with even a deeper understanding than mushrooms on their own?
- Are their any 'new' effects?
- How radical is the shift in intensity between 5 grams normally and 5 gram + syrian rue?
- How much longer do the effects last?
- Do you generally get more energetic or introperspective?

Thanks a lot!

I have never done, but I do not think you should try 5 grams with MAO your first time. My friends do 2 grams and MAO and say they are completely blown away. They have experimented with doses such as 8 grams. I would start around 3 grams if you want a very intense experience.

peace & love

Syrian rue is very powerful in my experience, and it alters the effects of the mushrooms significantly.
I've had some very good experience with it, but also the most fearful experiences of my life.
You better know yourself well, know your fears and how to handle them, because those fears are likely to become too real.. You might be really convinced that you are dead, or even worse, that nothing is real, nothing ever was and you are all alone, eternally trapped in a bubble that is not life nor death nor a dream. I have felt terrible for months afterward, and it required a similar experience to overcome my fears. You better not go there without a shaman or something.
5 Grams of rue and 5 grams of shrooms will likely take you to the spiritrealm, and I don't know if you want that, but passionflower would be a better choice if you consider using a MAOi. And just start out with half the amount of mushrooms you normaly would take.

As for the duration and peaks, mushrooms on their own are like a camel to me, with multiple peaks, and each succesive peak being weaker than the previous. With MAOi it's like a dromedary :p
Just one big extended peak slightly deminishing over time, usually 10 hours or so..

I hope that anwsers some of your questions.. And good luck with exploring

Peace

For me it felt ancient, something added to the experience.

- Are their any 'new' effects?
Spontaneously knowing an ancient language which had like 100 times more nuanced words for emotions than our language.

I took 5 grams rue and 3 grams dried psilo. It was a very nice experience, not super intense but more intense compared to just 3 grams. It was a very rewarding experienc for me. It felt very positive. I also should maybe mention that it had been nine years since my last trip.

- How much longer do the effects last?

I didn't time it, usually I just roll into my bed around 6/7 in the morning after a journey :)

- Do you generally get more energetic or introperspective?

Not sure I only did it once.

Thanks for the answers pals. I'll start with 3 grams then. With a kick off mindset for 'any possible intensity'.

for me the shroom/mao-i combination is one less visual but much more mental. Did it a few times with syrian rue and a few times with yohimbe, both where pleasant but with the yohimbe it was more of a bouba trip and wit rue a more spiky kiki trip. it didn’t extend the duration of the trip but it did change the peaking in a plateau instead of a wave of peaks.

(for an explanation of kiki and bouba check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bouba/kiki_effect )

Ahhh yes, I have had one of these experiences you describe. It was the most mystical experience of my life! At first I was scared, but then my 'self' started to dissolve into nothingness, so "I" had nothing to be scared about. It was beautiful. You are just an observer on a ride, enjoy the ride, see as much as you can, learn something!

I hope you have a great experience Brugmansia. I am going to be experimenting with this combination next year. I am quite excited! Could you please share you experience with us when you do it. Thanks

peace & love to all!
