Sunday Sport
From Wikipedia,

The Sunday Sport is a British newspaper, printed by Sport Newspapers, which established itself in 1986 as a tabloid. It has printed plainly ludicrous stories, such as a double-decker London bus being found frozen in the Antarctic ice, or a World War II bomber found on the moon. Defenders of the paper point out that it is not intended to be taken seriously

allright a sort of imagination pornographic magazine?

Michael Phelps Dropped by Kellog’s, Will Skip 2012 Olympics

The bong incident upsets many

Kellog’s is the first sponsor to drop swimmer Michael Phelps

A few days ago, 8-time gold medal winner at the Beijing Olympics Michael Phelps was exposed by News of the World as an occasional marijuana user, when a photo of him smoking pot was made public. An official apology on behalf of Phelps followed shortly, but the effects of the bong incident have not failed to appear: Kellog’s is the first sponsor to drop the swimmer for it, while his presence at the 2012 Olympics is uncertain at the moment.

Kellog’s was one of Phelps’ biggest sponsors, and also the first to refuse to renew the contract with him on account of the fact that his image has been ruined and he is no longer the model he was. Michael’s most recent behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg’s. a statement from the company briefly said about the reason behind the refusal to renew the sponsorship.

Moreover, also because of the News of the World photo, as well as due to a lengthy account that had it that he was no stranger to marijuana, USA Swimming too suspended Phelps from competing for three months.

This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people, particularly the hundreds of thousands of USA Swimming member kids who look up to him as a

role model and a hero. Michael has voluntarily accepted this reprimand and has committed to earn back our trust. the federation stated in a statement just released.

As for whether Michael will be allowed to participate in the 2012 Olympics, it seems that he will be the one to step back before actually being suspended. In a press statement released yesterday, the swimmer announced that he was thinking skipping the Olympics, while adding If I decide to walk away, I’ll decide to walk away on my own terms.

This has been seen as a move meant to anticipate the official decision that he is not to be a part of the 2012 Olympics but, so far, no official announcement regarding this has yet been made.

All these stupid, angry reactions of institutes, they are as if Phelps did something extremely shameful and bad, as if he has stolen or beaten someone. All speaking of how disappointed they are in him etc., without for one instance poniting towards what exactly it is that disappoints them. What did he do wrong, who did he hurt? What did he do to the U.S. swimming association and to Kellog's? What makes this more than a meaningless personal thing?

Indeed he should never have apologized, and should just have stood up for his freedoms. But I guess you can't do that in the U.S. If he would have said anything like that it would have put a huge stigma on him.

" If he would have said anything like that it would have put a huge stigma on him."

I dont think so . He has a lot of respect and it would have given people the chance to think about the subject . The problem is basicaly that the population is being divided into big buisness and money on the one side and science , common sense , public health and human rights on the other and that that would have been much clearer to the voters if he hadnt of shit out .

Subway Also Drops Michael Phelps, Asks for Endorsement Money Back

Swimmer about to lose another major sponsorship

Subway reportedly considering dropping Michael Phelps sponsorship as well

Michael Phelps, once America’s golden boy for his impressive run at the Beijing Olympics, is now starting to feel the aftershocks of the bong incident. While yesterday, the USA Swimming federation suspended him for three months and Kellog’s announced the sponsorship with him would not be renewed, today it’s Subway that is said to be considering pulling the plug on the endorsement deal.

Subway signed Phelps in November and, while nothing has been made official yet, it seems that it is determined to pull the plug on the contract even before it comes to an end, as BuzzNewsRoom reports. All references to Phelps have disappeared from the Subway website and sources speak that the sponsor is so angry at the bong scandal that it’s considering asking for the endorsement money back from the swimmer.

Confidentially, the Subway webteam gave us the heads up Michael Phelps has been remmed out, de-linked, due to his recent one toke over the line. Other Subway ‘celebrity friends’ are still listed, like Jared, Ryan Howard and Reggie Bush but they have been told to officially de-link all references featuring Michael. BuzzNewsRoom informs. A spokesperson for Subway has also been contacted but, from what she’s saying, no decision regarding the contract has yet been reached.

Subway takes pride in being a healthy and active brand one that can be a regular part of these world class athletes’ routines. We knew Michael Phelps was a big fan of our sandwiches and we wanted to build on that with him to illustrate that Subway is a brand that can play a role in helping everyone from elite athletes to weekend joggers perform at their peak levels and make healthier, smarter choices about food, whatever the activity. Tony Pace, chief marketing officer of the SUBWAY Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust (SFAFT), said on November 21, when the sponsorship was announced.

It is precisely because of this statement that Subway is now considering pulling the plug and getting rid of this embarrassment, sources say, as a healthy lifestyle is not something that can be associated with smoking marijuana. As it is known, the controversy began when News of the World ran a couple of photos showing Michael Phelps smoking marijuana at a party, while sources were saying that he looked like he knew what he was doing, that is, that it was not his first time.

He should stand up and admit it and stand to it saying he hasnt done anything wrong . Then he should remind the country that he won 8 gold medals for them and call for a boycot of the two sponsors because they are bigots . If he did that others would stand up and suport him .

Exactly. He's just allowing them to fuck with him now.

Its like a fight , if someone starts to get anoying you walk away and if they dont stop you turn around and zap them . The choices are either let yourself get crucifyed , fight and loose or fight and win . I would fight and keep my self respect .

Eight arrested in Phelps bong case

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - New details have emerged about a party where Olympic champion Michael Phelps was spotted.

On Feb. 2, a British tabloid published a picture of the 14-time Olympic gold medalist using a water pipe to smoke marijuana. The picture was taken at a party in Columbia back in November when Phelps was here for a visit.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department has been taking a lot of heat from people in this country and all over the world. They want to know why Sheriff Leon Lott is going after Michael Phelps.

Many are saying the sheriff should concentrate on more serious crimes, or at the very least, not focus solely on the Olympic champion when there were others at the party who were also breaking the law.

Now it appears the case has expanded beyond Phelps' activities. The party took place in November at a house on Blossom Street near Five Points. It was at that house where someone snapped the photo of Phelps taking a hit on a marijuana pipe called a bong.

Lott says the picture indicated a law was being broken in his jurisdiction. He said he couldn't ignore the violation just because Phelps is rich and famous.

We've now learned that since investigators began trying to build a case, they've made eight arrests: seven for drug possession and one for distribution. These are arrests that resulted as the sheriff's department served search warrants. We've also learned that the department has located and confiscated that bong.

Sources say the owner of the bong was trying to sell it on eBay for as much as $100,000. The owner, who wasn't even at the party, is one of the eight now charged.

Phelps is not one of those charged at this point, but the sheriff's department has strong evidence that matches the photo to the house on Blossom Street. That house is in the city, but the Columbia Police Department decided not to initiate or take an active role in the investigation.

Governor Mark Sanford is also weighing in on the sheriff's actions. On the FOX News Channel Sunday night, Geraldo Rivera asked Sanford whether Phelps should be prosecuted. "I don't see what it gets at this point," said Sanford.

His spokesman told us Monday night Sanford is letting that quote stand.

HAH! That's really laying low. I wonder if anyone bid.

This thing sure is ridiculous... if the sponsors want to drop him, then drop him. If they don't care, then what's the problem? It's not anyone's decision except the sponsors. All these people are writing articles now saying he should or shouldn't be pardoned, but I don't get it... it's not up to these people. Why do they care? Now they're making arrests based on that one picture? Come on... Are they desperate for news or what

I gotta say, I'd love to smoke a joint with Phelps. All of this is just f'in ludacris. His original statment SHOULD of been, "I was being stupid and playing around, the entire thing was nothing more of a JOKE" he admitted guilt to it though.
The funny part is it seems they aren't going after Phelps but all the people around him.

Who suplyed the foto to the press ?

Who told the pigs who was at the party ?

How could the pigs prove what was in the bong ?

"The funny part is it seems they aren't going after Phelps but all the people around him."

so it's war they want, eh?

too bad potheads couldn't unite and boycott both those companies..

Wow ! Big deal , i`m sure kellogs will notice that .

The police involved in the case have announced that there will be no charges against him because of lack of physical evidence .

I wonder if that allso goes for the other people involved ?
