Well explained Drugless . One can also grow one plant normaly and have the flourescent lights standing up actualy touching them inside the lengths of the branches surounding them . The flourescent ones that Drugless showed a picture of are also available as grow lamps specialy for growing and for flowering . The amount of light that you get out of them wasnt as much as the amount of light you get out of an HPS lamp . Street lamps are often HPS.................

if you do wish to introduce a more powerfull light, say 400- 600w into the home this is a good time of the year to do it. a minor raise in power consumption will go unnoticed as everybody else will be using more power for heating etc. it really does pay for itself. do the vegetative growth under fluorescent lights and flower under HPS. even running a 1000w hps i was only paying ~£8 a week extra electricity x 9 weeks. you get that back and a lot more very quickly, the yield is so much better

Thanks for your help because in the french forum nobody awnser me so LOVE THE ENGLISH FORUM !!
French is a beautiful language, but as far as knowledge of any kind is concerned, you'll get some of the best and up-to-date info in English. I'm happy to see you love the English forum, and I hope it encourages you to keep learning English (also after you get your highschool diploma!). I'm 33 now and still dedicated to improving my English.

I also learned some important things from this thread. Thanks to GOD and druglessdouglas especially. I think I'll be twisting some wires again tonight. I've got a bunch of fluorescent tube fittings I was about to throw away (i.e. that Mara wants me to throw away, lol), but I guess I'm going to install them again tonight for side lightning. :)

You will have to take care of the heat and that they dont get to dry . Also reflectors work wonders .

I surrounded the plants with three fluorescent tubes and four 60 watt bulbs (hanging more lights above the plants is not an option). It is getting pretty hot in there.

Be carefull not to blind the fuckers...........

But maybe you get honoured and they call the next Dutch nuclear reactor "Caduceus"............

i would get rid of the bulbs, or replace them with the energy efficient ones. normal bulbs are no use at all. the energy eficient ones are perfect

Drugless is right again about the incandescent bulbs . They arent very efficient and hot .......but its watts / out put and spectrum that causes growth . The output is prety shity and using flourescent tubes is better..... but if you dont have enough flourescent lamps a few incandescent bulbs might help .

This shows the eficiency of diferent types of bulbs , but it doesnt say anything about spectrum . Again....BUT .... the spectrum of most bulbs is always around the spectrum one needs because we see better at those wavelengths .

you will get the energy efficient bulbs for about a euro each. good investment, and you can use them in the house after. its the only house lights i use now

GOD a dit:
Be carefull not to blind the fuckers...........
What happens if the plants get too hot? How will I recognize overheating?

the leaves will start to droop, maybe start to burn also at the tips/edges. youll be able to tell something is going wrong. the temperature of the soil is the importaint thing, the leaves will just transpire more to keep cool but the roots are unable to cool themselves
