Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?

You answered 13 items out of 20 as right brained.
Your score is 65%. Your right brain is slightly dominant.

Although I'm not a painter I tried to answer what I would answer if I'd paint :P

Anyway, I was forced to be creative (painting, drawing, wood carving, metal working, singing etc) to a point where I nearly started hating the stuff altogether in high school. Also @ Uni I have the feeling I constantly get challenged to do critical thinking. Maybe I'm lucky with my highschool though. In any case, without creative thinking, you'll never be a logician is what I've learned from my logics courses. Which maybe goes to show how much nonsense (brainwashing? :P) the left/right brain thinker division is.

Oke, that's one test. But a while back i found another one, but if this one is right i still don't know. Because most people should see the dancer turning left, since they have a dominant left brain and other will see it turn right if they have a dominant right brain. And of course, GOD and Caduceus have to be able to see the dancer turning both sides.

But i have doubts with this test.......

I can only see it turn clockwise, while some others i do know see the exact opposite, or both. I've have watched for hours and i can't change the direction as some people also seem able to do.

If i realy stare sometimes she has 1 or 2 or 3 tits .

If you want to see her change direction, just focus on the sole of her left foot, and let your gaze blur and close your eyes at times. As soon as you get the feeling the foot is spinning the other direction, look up. Try it a couple of times. Remember: don't look at the boobs! They were designed to trick you!

Hehehe, maybe it are those boobs.....

But i can't change the direction. More people seem to experience this.

it's the boobs AND the hair. she turns only clockwise as I see it.

mystic, try scrolling down until you only see her feet. try changing the direction then.

Yes, and try looking at the shadow instead, or the white area between her foot and the shadow.

and then if climb on your drawer, take a telescope and look at the top floor on the left, not the first window, but the other one, you can see the naked man sitting on his sofa and watching TV.

???????? a dit:

Nope it won't work for me, she just keeps turning clockwise. Man i am getting frustrated :P :D

me too !!!!!!!!!! She turns clockwise full stop.

I go to 'de kunsthumaniora Hasselt', some sort of artschool.
I study photography and video techniques.

don't think it kills mine :p

Your score is 80%. Your right brain is strongly dominant

"Your right brain is strongly dormant"

???

wow, i have 2 brains? :o

Yeah and you can only use a hundred percent divided among both halfs.
They say people ARE a certain percentage right or left brained but I don't think this is true. I think we can learn to switch between using left and right even though this is going to take a lot of research and practice. I also think that if you get this down you will be very powerful and you can deal with all sorts of areas of your life much more efficient.
Also, we can't fully use one side, we will always be using a certain percentage of the other half, on wich we must do more research.
Also, i think the most efficient way to use your brain is to switch to full (to the extent this is possible) right and left, not use 50-50 all the time (sorry god and cm ;) ).
First you are in right for a week, then in left for a week as an example.
Switching within shorter periods of time may prove possible with practice and research, but as I see it now, switching will be a very demanding task, especially the first full switch.
Perhaps the first switch back will prove easier as we are more used to and more comfortable with using this half.
Probably we don't want to switch back (we never knew we had these possibilities!) for a while.
It's all very fresh theory I have thought of, but I will soon research more on this, perhaps together with Mystic if he doesn't think my theories witch I will soon explain to him are total swirls of a heavily abused and thoroughly shaken gray matter ^^.
To be continued..

I guess it is. I also have spoken to some people who only could see the dancer turn anti-clockwise...

.

mystic, the secret is in the shadow, as CM pointed. try scrolling until you only see shadow and change the direction then.

bastiaan, dolphins kind of do everything you described, they sleep their halves one at a time and when they talk to each other there's this parallel stream of noises because they whistle with their right side and click with their left one (source). about the distinction of hemispheres, it is an useful one but don't think that you could pinpoint specific actions of a certain side at any given time because to the mind this is irrelevant. we use all of our brains almost always. if you were somehow succesful in switching sides, as you say, you would literally be having a stroke... it happened to this lady (jill bolte on ted, i'm sure lots of you have already seen her)
