Green cough syrup (NOT DXM), hydrocodone?

Hello. I have used DXM every now and then for a while, and I know what is and what isn't DXM. Just to get that clear.

Anyway. This is the second time I have encountered this cough syrup. I'm pretty sure it is prescription-only. My brother got some from the doctor when he was sick, and my friend got some as well recently. I'll try to describe it.

Well, it's green. Unlike DXM-cough syrups, it tastes GOOD. I think it's actually flavored. No gagging or anything. I don't drink a lot. 1 - 5 tablespoons. Even 1 is enough to get the effects. The bottle says "take 1 TEAspoon." The effects are not highly psychoactive or "trip-like." They are more just... sedative/sleepy/happy/feel reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good/just high. It doesn't make you hyper or giggly. Just a constant euphoric high. I believe there is a hangover, (although my girlfriend who did the same amount as me feels fine today).

This is what the bottle says:

Is HC-PSEUDO-CARBINOX the name of the active ingredient? There is no ingredient list.

I think this drug may be one of two things:
codeine
hydrocodone

But I may be wrong, it may be something else, I really hope one of you can find out exactly what I took.

P.S. I already realize how stupid it is to take something in excess to "get high" when I do not know what it is and have no info on it. I don't need to be told this, please don't waste your time.

Hm... so there's NO way to obtain hydrocodone/codeine/vicodin without a prescription? Are there any legal opiates at all?

I guess the next time I am sick I will go to the doctor and tell him I have a super cough/sore throat, and that I have no other symptoms and HOPE he prescribes me hyrdocodone-only syrup.

There's a legal plant called Kratom. It has effects very similar and is often used to wean people off opiates or help with opiate withdrawals. As far as I know no opiates are legal.
