Divine Moments of Truth - Shpongle

I love this song. When I do DMT for the first time, this is gonna be the soundtrack.

I dunno who its by, but the song Golden Brown is good.

Storm the Legion - !!!

"LSD taught me a lot about me
Or would I have figure it out just naturally?
It's too late to tell because I'm talking to hell
With all the other acid casualties
Spent a lot of time staring at ceiling fans
And tripping on stereo panning
Came to a new level of understanding
But it never much came in handy
And now I'm just so damaged
But all those straight minds are just so narrow
And me and my friends are wondering just where oh where
Where did our minds go?

I learned a lot from smoking pot
Then again maybe not
Can't remember what I forgot
I do believe I'm shaking up our conceptions of reality
But goddamn if I don't got friends
Who forget where they were heading
And they're looking every direction
And all they see is dead ends
Some of my friends are already talking
How they miss the old days
But they never seems to connect it
With their new ways
No they never think of changing things
They just order up another drink
And the reasons why we're getting fucked up
End up not mattering that much

Well, yeah, I get fucked up every once in a while
But we all got friends who got to get fucked up just to smile
And it ain't a smile if you got to force it "

One of the best tracks ever! I totally love this song!

...if we're including reggae songs, then you could probably post every second reggae tune ever written... but out of my head:

Black Slate - Collie Herb

Pato Banton - Do Not Sniff the Coke

Rita Marley - One Draw

Barrington Levi - Under Me Sensi

Michael Rose - Guess who's coming to dinner
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGq5JlJXgCc
(one of the best live versions I could find, although he had a bad cold and almost cancelled! And Sly and Robbie weren't there...)

Bounty Killer - High Grade (on the great Lightning Riddim)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixOs2hikZvE

... am I having a Deja-Vu, or have I assembled this same list before? I think so...

Another one comes to my mind (pretty big in Germany)

Die Fantastischen Vier - Der Tag am Meer (1993)

They never really say it in the song, but it's actually about taking LSD at the beach.
Oh my god they looked so stupid back then! LOL

They're big in Germany because they were one of the first to make German Hip Hop. They didn't try to copy US rappers, they just took rap/Hip Hop and made a German version of it, something new. Today everybody's doing it, but they made it happen. Oh and they are from my hometown of Stuttgart (Benztown Rockers! Yeah!)

I could say I was friends with them back in Stuttgart, but no... ;) I even have to admit I didn't like their music back then.
Thomas D. (the guy with the short hair) is pretty cool though, he's a psychonaut and despite all the money he has, lives at an organic commune farm with his family and other musicians and artists.

*edit* oh my god, I just looked up their first Hit Single and now I'm really glad I didn't like them back at the time. Shows me I had taste even as a teenager ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIi7k69L ... re=related
(not drug related, just hilarious...)

I have this great concert video of the Black Uhuru, '81 Essen in Germany, it's Michael Rose, Puma Jones, the Taxi All Stars and Sly and Robbie. Recorded it some years ago on tv, someone also put parts on youtube - now that I found this - this is the even better version:
Sly&Robbie's performance on drums and bass is just stunningly good!

Here are some of my favorite drug songs:

Monster Magnet - Medicine
Monster Magnet - Nod Scene
Monster Magnet - Snake Dance
Monster Magnet - Superjudge
Monster Magnet - Twin Earth
Monster Magnet - Pill Shovel
Monster Magnet - Dopes To Infinity
Monster Magnet - Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Monster Magnet - Ozium

I knew Monster Magnet was good - but I didn't know they had so many drug songs. They're playing here next month, and I really consider going :)

Well that of course! You don't even have to mention it ;)

Quintessence live - Raja Ram in action in '71, when he was like 30 years old:

Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze
The Velvet Underground - Heroine
The Stranglers - Golden Brown
Eric Clapton - Cocaine
Eminem - Drug Ballad
Blur - Coffee and Tv

That's about it. Jefferson Airplane is my favourite, followed by The Vu and Hendrix.

In their early days (1991 - 1995) they described their own music as drug rock, then space rock. After 1995 the lead singer basically abstained from weed amd psychedelics, and objected to the band being described as stoner rock. All the songs I posted are from the early days, from the records Tab, Spine of God, Superjudge and Dopes to Infinity.

looking forward to see MM soon as well.

nick drake - been smoking too long
