I was thinking earlier.. what about dinosaurs??

Were there psychoactive plants in those days? Or weed and such?
And if so, would they have eaten it?
And if they would have eaten it, would they have tripped the fuck out too?

funny thought! :P perhaps if one knew how other reptiles like crocadiles reat to psychedelics one could do a educated gues to how dino's would react to them. but that would only be a geuss.

ow? I always thought dino's were reptiles, but hell I´m starting to doubt myself, will look it up on wikipedia.

in english:

They as an order within the class of the reptiles were traditionally seen, present they are sometimes considered as a separate class, but generally as rangloze a group which includes generally also the birds, within the larger group of the reptiles

9sorry for the bad translation, but I am a bit lazy and used babel fish to do the translating :P)

My personal answers to your questions:

1) Yes there were psychoactive plants, as it's just some chemical that makes it psychoactive (wether its used for defense or some process in the plant, it's likely that these were present in some plants)
2) At some point some dinosaurs would have eaten them. But I don't think the big dino you posted would have noticed anything from eating a bud of mary j. Anyway, my guess is that the dinosaur would not like it.. I don't know of any animals today that look for psychoactive plants (apart from humans ofcourse). I think that they would be very vulnerable when tripping their ass of in the jungle.
3) Depends on the plant, in excessive doses from some they would have been tripping, others would have resulted in vomiting and cramps etc. But they would 'trip' yes, it is psychoactive so i think you can call it trip.

Note: It would be very interesting if they consumed some energizing plant, this would actually give them a bigger chance of survival.

Humans live in a safe environment so they can afford to be lying around looking at the trees without the risk of being slaughtered by a monster 10 times your size.

But most of this wasn't too hard to think of for yourself probably.

well, there are a lot of anymals that eat psychoactive plants and know that they are psycho active, the moose in syberia eat amanita's, cat's love catnip and some ape's chew on poisonous catarpilars wich contain cyanide and rub the spit in combination wit those catarpilars on their fur in protection to parasites, after this the ape's sit for hours staring into blissfull nothingness.

Dinosaurs were made up by man.

The bible says that god created the earth in six days and on the seventh, he rested. Nowhere in there does it mention dinosaurs.

Blasphemy!!!!

Brewmaster a dit:
Blasphemy!!!!

Oh man, how could I have trusted him when he promised me that he would take his prescription pills from now on...

hey brew, that avatar, is that a develish picture a picture of you? did you project the idea of the dinasaur into the minds of man so that we would stop believing in god? you did, didnt you? and you also put al those dino skeletons in the ground to suport your idea!

All those giant skeletons here in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History- they're all made out of cow and chicken bones. The earth has only been around for a few thousand years.

The picture is the label of my favorite beer: Arrogant Bastard.
God made beer. Not dinosaurs.

Praise Jesus!

I wonder what a heroic dose of shrooms would be for a dino out of that picture :E

the dino's will trip i think, in that age was everything bigger... also the mushrooms they found leaves from that time that where 9 meters long and the insects where bigger 2... proberly the mushrooms would be 4 - 6 meters

So they must have needed HUGE quantities of rice lye to make them grow ?

the rice was 1 kg per grain and half a meter long :) Dinosaurs are fine cooks you know

Imagine 30 m tall MJ!! and 10 m Amanitoids...

Actually a lot of animals trip their asses off, I've seen jaguars high on Animal Planet!!

wow i wish i could get high so easily....just by watching animal planet...or did they eat the cameraman?

What I'm seriously wondering is: what about dolphins and killer whales? I'm sure their big brains can handle a psychedelic quite well. Do they perhaps know of psychoactive sea weeds, coral or jelly fish, which they eat at certain phases of the lunar cycle?

If so, I guess it's better if we humans don't find out about it... Or?

Why the fuck would a wale that doesn't understand ANYTHING of OUR world want to trips his balls off with some seeweed, when they are perfectly happy when being in sea close to their friends and family, having everything it needs, ...
