I know a certain "regular psychology/psychiatry" professional who has done quite extensive research in autism. If you'd like it I could ask her for some nice readings on autism. I suppose you will probably be assisted enough anyway, but it probably won't hurt. :)

i wonder why CM got so obsessed with the "psychology of the future" and why he thinks he even has to defend it against harmless jokes, but well ... i guess it's normal as ridiculisation seems to be a weapon commonly used....

anyways more information on autism would be cool, to me it's still a bit of a mistery....

oh and i too think the line between genius and insanity might indeed be thin, however "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." --Friedrich Nietzsche

I got to know a few autistic people recently, and I seriously doubt that anything or anyone would be able to heal a strong case of autism. The two autists I got to know were seriously mentally disabled. Not saying that I don't believe inside they were wonderful people with ideas and maybe even a lot of intelligence. I'm just saying that they were almost unable to communicate at all, they both were unable to speak, and they had serious problems with their motor skills. One of them often used to move his head up and down like he wanted to bang it into an invisible wall, while yelling loudly.
Autism like this has nothing to do with a little social awkwardness and savant-knowledge like rainman. It is, like I said, a serious mental disability.

I also got to know an Asperger patient, a boy of 14 who was visiting a normal school and who was actually really good at Latin and history. He was totally different, well able to communicate with people, very intelligent - just a little different than most people. He also had impaired motor skills though and was hardly able to write clearly enough by hand as so somebody would be able to read it.
