Why is half the site in a different language?

why does most of the world speak in a different language?

The website was initially created for Europeans (the server is located in Amsterdam). Traditionally French and German people don't know English very well. The French section of this website became very popular last year. There are also a German, Spanish and Portuguese sections, but they are not used very much. People from the Netherlands can read and write English quite well, but we also like to discuss web pages, news items and other things in Dutch.
