you could also make a spore print and then make your own spore syringe and start a new grow! it's not that hard...
That's my idea, but before that, I must prepare my terrarium for that. I am using a small one, that can't contain more than one kit, but I'm planing on building a bigger one. I was just asking that because it sounds quite logical, but I'm not a micologist, nor am I a biologist, or anything that finishes in "ist" /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
It seems to me that if the kit will grow as long as the shrooms have "food", but the formula could not be so simple... I just want to learn everything possible before I start growing from scratch my own terrarium.

Try to make it like this:
Thats the way I do..
try to get some glasses used for marmelade and put the fertile soil in 3/4. after this, put some dry vermiculit (mineral used for the fertile soil) over 1/4.
Put it in the Microwave 25min for sterilizing, after this clean the lids of the glasses with alchol, strillium for example, and screw them lightly on the glasses. take a nail and hammer and put 4 holes in the lid, every side 1, Nord, South, West, East, and place some tape over the holes. In every taped hole, you inject 1/4 of the spore spyringe. Put them in a dark room...with about 27°C and let them incubate for 7 to 14 days, when the mycel has completely taken the glass, open the lid and turn the glass. So you can put it in the terrarium covered with kitchenwrap -> or growbox completely(without the glass). Just wait 10 days and harvest.

'edit' Never ever touch something with your hands! Keep it very sterile, sterilize everything! and keep attention on your hair and mouth.

Yes, thats is true, but if the kit is geting out of "food", and therefore stop producing shrooms, I think its always better to try to continue the production, adding more stirile rye. This way, the worst thing that could happen is the contamination of the kit, resulting the end of the production... and thats just what happens whem the "food" supply finish.
