Don't know how I missed this thread before.

I've read The Singularity Is Near and was very interested in the Singularity idea.

From the Singularity Institute: "Combine faster intelligence, smarter intelligence, and recursively self-improving intelligence, and the result is an event so huge that there are no metaphors left. There's nothing remaining to compare it to."

I think its unlikely a Singularity will occur here but if we managed to get to the point we could see it even as a possibility then the chances of an 'intelligence explosion' happening somewhere in the multiverse is exciting.

Brugmansia have you come across the Biocosm concept?
