Defining first off reality as the existence of 'everything' imaginable including the imagining of those things. (By imagining I mean to hold within the mind, imagining the apple that is really on your table is still imagining it in this definition.)

In this definition of reality, how do we define the interconnectedness of it all?

I remember back in my chemical days experiencing an awareness of both self and cosmos that brought me to a realization that all of 'reality' is interconnected at what I could call a fractalscopic level. Coining this term I see it as the situation in which everything interrelates through fractal relationships to the point where you can draw a 'line' if you will (though rarely straight) between any point in reality to any other point in reality merely by understanding the fractal equation that connects them.

I am not however coming from the mathematical side of the fractal concept but more from the experience of perceiving the relationship between the fractals that I studied in high school and college and the fractals that I saw even more clearly in my mind's eye and at a spiritual level when being in chemically induced states.

My question then is, can anyone else see this pattern and/or relationship as I see it or am I breaking new ground? Though I highly doubt that I am breaking new ground I have had prophetic in the predictive sense expressions in my life before and so though maybe not breaking new ground but instead seeing it come forward from the future into the now would be more likely if no one else has thought about this before.

Then of course there is always the possibility that I am just being the Village Idiot again and this is old hat to all of you.

What are your thoughts? How do you see the interconnectedness of reality to the greater and lesser degrees at a more concrete level then simply 'we are everything', or 'we are all related'. How do we explore that interconnectedness at a consciousness level so that we can utilize it to our growth and enabling the growth of others?

Just wondering.

I don't know what a fractal is.

The interconnectedness I believe comes from the fact that all matter is energy and therefore all things are energy but this doesn't answer the question, it's the "we are everything" sort of answer.

The only way I can think of to explore the interconnectedness consciously is to focus on and examine those expressions of the interconnectedness that we can perceive.
Next time you experience de ja vu don't just write it off as a curiosity, experiment with it.
Examine why it is that you feel empathy toward another.
Listen to your hunches and try and work out if there's any common factor in those hunches that turn out to be correct.

If you want to understand the interconnectedness then study the perceivable manifestations of it in your conscious world.

A fractal is mathematical equation where the output of the equation is fed back into the input. I'm sure we could wikipedia it but the fractals I was refering to was the intensely visual flowing and flooding colorific shapes in a deeply visual psychedelic experience. Lots of internet people who create avatars for websites or skins for things have a tendancy to use fractal graphics in things related to the psychedelic. Their nature is that of a truly beautiful and remarkable image in my opinion that seems to occur naturally in nature as well as in mathematics.

An example of fractals in nature is the 'branching' concept. A tree has a trunk, then has limbs, then has branches, then has leaves, then even has veins within the leaves then has cells.... The human body is the same, we have a torso (trunk) then limbs, then for example hands then fingers then veins then cells... A river is the same, the main river then it branches into tributaries then goes into a delta which fans out... The branching is a typical fractal concept because the equation feeds back on itself. The branches have branches have branches kind of thing. Then there is the nature of the fact that these branching things interact with each other so that a person sitting next to a tree by a river on earth has the earth as the trunk and the branching into the three things and then the sub branching.

So in a sense for example you could say that we are all energy but then the energy forms into waves and then waves form into other forms (that I dont know the technical terms for) so that even though we have an apple, and a bear, and a coin, they have all 'branched away' from the same source of energy.

This was something that I had discussed in highschool with one of my computer programming teachers and infact she had me teach a class on it to the students one year behind me. I guess I have always had a love for fractal landscapes and as such when I did my first chemical induction I found that the visuals were almost like pureified liquid forms of the fractals that I had found so inviting at a mathematical level.

Even in that is the fractal concept of a fractal being both a mathematical equation and a very solid visual halucination in a chemical experience as well as an expression in nature. If you know enough about fractals and their main types you can sometimes even nearly idenfity real expressions of them in the visuals.

Btw, here is the link on fractals: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractals. Even has a note on frost crystals forming in a fractal formation in a purely physical environment as it says which demonstrates my point.

Really need to learn to use wikipedia more, I keep finding people talking about stuff that I already knew and didnt know how I knew it lol. Maybe someone somewhere is shoving the wikipedia consciousness node up my arse lol.

"I was the light in the void (or of the light, or under the light? this relationship is important but still not understood). There was no time, or if there was then one second was an eternity, and no space. There was no thought or feeling, only awareness. I slipped somehow, and a shadow came into being. As I tried to return to the original state I came into conflict with the shadow. As we manoeuvred for position, trying to outflank each other, we fractured and multiplied and intertwined. The vision was of a rose unfolding, as we became space and time and matter and energy in a scene of vastly increasing fractal complexity. Each of our mindless yet aware parts repeated on a smaller scale that which had happened at first. I (we) fell further and further from the light, deeper into the matter that we had become. Mandelbrot set complexity.

Stars and galaxies formed and I could feel how the complexity was going full circle as we became incarnate in life and awareness became consciousness and mind. These billions of years were all experienced somehow. On one hand I was sitting in the room with Alan in 'real time'. On the other my mind was fragmenting and I was starting to live every life of everything in the current universe. Horribly tiring. If God wants anything I would guess that it's a quiet life. The more consciousness and mind in a creature the more strain living that life was. "

Ive considered this and Ive come to the realization that the trick to acheiving higher states of consciosness is to actually spend time occasionally spliting and recombining your own consciosness so that you can stretch youself further with the same amount of consciosness each time.

For example if you are intracately and complexly aware of how to 'make a piece of toast' and you spend hours on how to make the perfect piece of toast then in the end you need to package up your ability to make a piece of toast into the concept of 'making a piece of toast' so that the next time your in a higher consciosness state you can 'make a piece of toast' and not waste hours making the perfect piece of toast yet still have a perfect piece of toast after you have simply thought 5 words.

I have done this with some success I think as I do find myself itterating through my life fractally in chunks. I will for example say to myself "I need to pee" and then I will find myself having an intense thought experience of magnimus proportions experiencing the realms of chaos of the workings of my mind, or other such drivel, only to find out half an hour late I had 'peed' and it was even in the right place in the house suitable for such an experience.

Its about disassociating the basic concepts of your mind so that you can re-apply that consciosness to higher states.

I dont think this is the end all to higher consciosness by design only a begining but it seems to be a good place to start and a good place to return to naturally when you want to relax away from the truly mind blowing stuff.
