It's about time this message was brought to the masses. Unfortunately, a lot of people here don't want to believe the worst about the government, these are the folks who are willingly sending their children off to die in Iraq and Afghanistan, completely besotted by the propaganda of the neo-cons.

I am glad that someone has made a movie about it, at least the message will get to a lot more people now.

I want to download the torrent, but I just got a new computer, and it is a Vista machine, 64 bit, and it doesn't like torrents or file sharing.....until I figure it out, no torrents for me.

Back on topic, OF COURSE the 'drug war' is a cover for the governments methods of generating what they call' black money'.....which is a secret source of revenue which can be utilized in whatever fashion....the most recent, notable example of this that came to light was the way in which it was implemented in the 'Iran-Contra' debacle.

A democratic Congress would not approve the funding of our attempt to start a war with the government of Nicaragua in the 80's, when Bush's daddy, Dick Cheney, and that senile old fool, Reagan, were trying to overthrow the government there.

So, utilizing the CIA and the US military, they began importing cocaine by the ton to generate the money to funnel to the 'contras', a bunch of mercenaries and thugs hired by OUR GOVERNMENT to topple a sitting government.

When a transport plane was shot down, piloted by a guy named Eugene Hasenfus, the story unraveled....as told by Gary Webb.

I think those guys should all be shot, to be honest.

Well, what new? wasn't it similar about 60 y ago, 90 y ago a few hunderds, thousends years ago?

Drugs have only been illegal for a century. Prohibition was inspired by moral societies in the US combined with racist ideology. I don't know if government was always involved in pushing drugs, but it has been for a couple of centuries, at least dating back to the British Empire pushing opium in China in the 18th and 19th century.

I actually ment the war, but I don't believe it's illegal gor a century, was it not the catholic church who tried to kill all pegans?

that was a witch hunt and had nothing to do with legality. There was no law prohibiting the use of any substance before the mid 19th century on a small scale and from 1909 onwards on a global scale.

One might also wonder if the church killed pagans for their use of certain substances. I don't think that was the entire issue. Clashing ideologies always result in death and destruction. Look at the crusades, there were no drugs involved in those wars, it was all territory and gaining souls for your church.
