Hallo,
im going to the Netherlands in two weeks time, and before doing so i tried to figure out what the wierd names they have for Shrooms mean.
Which are meant by Hawaiian, Thai and so on?

I think they call Pc Cubensis "Hawaiian", is that true?
Could someone maybe give me a list of what Paneolus Cyanescens, Psilocybe Cyanescens, Psilocybe Cubensis, and Mexicana (A or B) and Psilocybe Tampensis are called in Holland.

Kind regards,
Jazz

P.S: Is it possible to get Pc Azurescens anywhere in a shroom shop?
P.P.S: If I buy "Philosophers Stones" will I buy Tampensis or Mexicana Sclerotia?

It is very confusing I know. In smartshops in holland (to keep it simple) you have 3 kind of shrooms that are sold (all fresh).

Psilocybe Cubensis = these are called Mexican shrooms

Psilocybe Mexicana A (or Tampensis) = these are called Philospher Stones or just called truffles.

Paneolus Cyanescens (also called copelandia) = Hawaiian Mushroom

There are many names in shops for the different kind of mushrooms, like thai, Philipine or colombian. These are all cubensis (Mexican) the only difference is the strain.

The Philosoper stones that are sold in smartshops are mostly Mexicana A , although most shops claim they have Tampensis, most of them do not. This strain is just commerical not as interesting as the Mexicana.

Hope its a bit more clear now. There are many mistunderstandings about the names , even by shopkeepers.

thank you very much for your quick reply!
If I dont recall falsely then last time i was in the Netherlands I bought some Semilanceata, are these the "Thais" they sell in the Shops?

P.S: Selling Mexicana as Tampensis, or Visa-Versa is criminal imho... if someone buys a PC, they dont want a typewriter sent to them...

No if you buy thais its most likly the Psilocybe cubensis thai , the Semilanceata are more difficult to find in smartshops, in english they called Liberty cabs. But in Holland we cal them "Kaalkopjes", havent seen them around for a long time. Most shrooms are fresh now.

theres also a kind I came across last week when I bought some mexicans in eindhoven
they were called Copelendia I believe but they were very thin long shrooms
but I thats all I know :)
