I am currently growing Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms with a grow kit from http://www.growbox.org. The growing bag is placed in my closed closet (in my bedroom), where the temperature is 22C-27C throughout the day and the humidity is 70%. It has been 3 days since I initiated the growing process.

I have read in numerous places that the growing bag (which is closed with two paper clips) shouldn't be exposed to air-conditioning.

Can I air condition the room if I make sure to dust the closet every time I air out the bag and spray some water inside (as per the instructions), or is this an absolute no-no.

Your help will be extremely appreciated. It is DAMN hot here - currently 36C during the day

P.S: How important is it to sterilize (boil) the water I use to water the bag?

Here is a link to the growing manual for my specific kit:

And this is how it looks (from the website):

You NEED to aircondition that room. Above 22°C is good for mycelium growth but the basidiomes need lower temperatures to come out.

A growbox is already collonised with mycelium so there is no need for temp above 22°C.

i think the temp can be 26 or 28° but cant be higher than that ... otherwise the shrooms will die

no problem :)
Good luck!

We're thinking a source of light above the grow bags. Is this advisable? What kind of light is best (fluorescent etc..)? How important is this in order to ensure the shrooms grow upright?

I'm thinking of taping a small source of light over the bags, below the top shelf, maybe wrap something around the grow bags?

What do you think?
