The Women’s Visionary Congress invites you to:
Shaman Women, Plant Medicine and Psychedelics
Simon Fraser University Harbourfront Campus
Oct. 20, 2013 12:00pm to 6:00pm
The intention of this salon is to highlight the work of women scholars, researchers, practitioners and community activists who work with and study plant medicines and psychedelics. The event will present speakers from the Vancouver community and bring news of how their visionary pursuits inform their work.
The Vancouver salon will continue the theme of 2013 WVC gatherings which is "Trouble and Resilience." Speakers will consider how expanded consciousness provides resilience in times of trouble, how challenges have arisen for researchers and practitioners in this field, and ideas about how to minimize difficulties in the future. The WVC recognizes that deep insights that support our resiliency can be reached through meditation, prayer, movement, ritual, mind altering substances, encounters with the natural world and other experiences that bring us closer to the divine.
Speakers: Susan Boyd PhD, Sarah Sophia Dykstra, Cynthia Davidson, Clare Wilkins, Mariavittoria Mangini PhD FNP, Diana Reed Slattery PhD, Annie Oak, and Eleonora Molnar.
Supported by the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition, Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy, VANDU and Banyen Books.
Tickets are on sale for $30 at Banyen Books and further information can be found at http://www.visionarycongress.org/ and by calling 1 604 886 2399.
